As a Welder at Newmont Mining, you will play a key role on the mining team and directly support mine maintenance goals and objectives. In this role, you will collaborate with and work alongside field and shop maintenance crews to ensure that all welding jobs are performed with quality workmanship in a safe and efficient manner.

Essential Duties

Read and interpret blueprints and schematics in order to accurately calculate dimensions

Read measurement devices accurately

Ensure proper steps are completed prior to starting a job

Meet strict deadlines while working individually or with a team

Troubleshoot and provide solutions to complex problems

Knowledge of and ability to use various welding equipment including, but not limited to, lift and control devices, soldering irons, fillet and butt weld gauges, brazing torches, robotic welding equipment, and various hand tools

Proficiency with air carbon arc gouging

Monitor the quality of welds and components, repair leaks, select and use appropriate grinders and other metal finishers

Training & Experience

Welding degree or equivalent experience preferred

Experience maintaining diesel equipment

Experience using and maintaining various welding equipment and tools to ensure safe and proper operation

Ability to read and understand schematics of mobile equipment

Strong problem solving skills

Proven excellent safety and attendance record

Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment

Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of the job

Working Conditions

Must be able to work rotating schedule
