Position Summary

FNF's Security Operations is seeking a Vulnerability Assessment Engineer to join a team that manages the

Security posture across a diverse environment.

The Vulnerability Assessment Engineer performs vulnerability analyses to develop a risk picture of the enterprise which is used to provide tailored and prioritized remediation strategies to key stakeholders. The Assessment Engineer supports the processes for technical risk management to protect FNF’s information assets.

o Use manual testing techniques and methods to gain a better understanding of the environment and reduce false negatives

o Track remediation and verify security patches and required configurations

o Generate vulnerability metrics, risk analysis and reports for senior leadership

• Research vulnerabilities and report on any findings affecting the company’s IT systems

• Analyze available system information including results of vulnerability and compliance scans, system setting and patch information to quantify and prioritize vulnerabilities

• Respond to service issues, problems, and critical situations to support resolution and minimize downtime

• Assist in development and implementation of security process and procedures

Requirements

• At least five years of information security related experience, in areas such as: vulnerability management, and system patching.

• Strong experience developing and leading technical remediation/mitigation activities of enterprise-wide issues, and providing status updates and reports. Emphasis on remediation plans and strategies.

• Strong experience performing manual and automated analysis of systems and networks to assess, prioritize, and mitigate vulnerabilities and risks to strengthen security posture.

• Knowledge of common enterprise vulnerability assessment and compliance tools (Rapid7, Nessus).

• Strong knowledge of Windows Desktop, Windows Server and Linux operating systems and system administration – specifically with regard to patching and compliance.

• Demonstrate fundamental understanding of system and network security principles and technology:

o Risk and vulnerability assessments

o CVE (Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures) standards

o Possible attack activities, such as scans, man in the middle, sniffing, DoS, DDoS, etc. and possible abnormal activities, such as worms, Trojans, viruses, etc.

o Networking - TCP/IP and other protocols. Common network device functions, such as routers, switches, hubs, etc.

o Common security device functions, such as IDS/IPS, Network and Host-based firewalls, DLP (Data Leakage Protection)

o Terminology, such as threat, vulnerability, risk, asset, exposure, safeguards, etc.

o Authentication, authorization, and accountability

o Encryption

o Log file analysis & correlation

• Willingness and aptitude to develop in-depth knowledge of assessment tools, network security technologies and products and to continuously improve these skills

• Able to articulate technical processes, both oral and written, to different audiences and varying levels of complexity

• Demonstrate time management skills and the ability to prioritize work in a highly dynamic environment

Education

Bachelors degree or equivalent experience; related certifications a plus.
