PURPOSE AND SUMMARY:
As a key enterprise strategic leader the Division Vice President oversees aspects of a Division\u2019s operations. Provides leadership and direction to the division\u2019s management team and ultimately is responsible for aspects of the divisions operations which may include strategic planning and forecasting, construction, customer care, purchasing, sales, land acquisition, land development, finance, marketing, warranty, entitlements, and other aspects of the business. The position is responsible for ensuring that these functions are led in a way that maximizes company profits and aligns with the company\u2019s culture and values while building a team.
FUNDAMENTAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for developing, implementing, and achieving the strategic and annual operating plans of the division
Monitors relevant changes in the marketplace and works to continuously position the division to take advantage of opportunities
Accountable for P&L with the goals of maximizing profits through establishing a business plan, and achieving forecast goals.
Recommends long-range strategic and tactical plans for land acquisition and future communities, based on market research and competitive data in the local market, to meet future supply/business plan goals
Recruit, train, motivate, and manage the Division\u2019s departmental management in executing the agreed upon plans and objectives of the company
Provides on-going and intensive, coaching, training, and feedback to the sales staff; managers and associates.
Develop, implement, and manage customer satisfaction and quality programs to continually improve buyer acceptance and satisfaction ratings for the company
Ensures achievement of established sales plan goals, while providing a superior customer service experience that is consistent with Meritage Homes\u2019 mission, vision and values
Reviews and analyzes the sales numbers of the business regularly (prices, inventory, backlog, etc.) to evaluate the effectiveness of sales and incentive programs.
Monitor construction team relationships and management of trade partners, ensuring a high level of communication and accountability.
Review buyer satisfaction surveys, analyze for trends and implement solutions that improve customer satisfaction scores and respond to reduce homeowner issues.
Drive value-engineering efforts to ensure the most cost effective product. Provide recommendations to reduce costs and work including utilization of national contracts
Collaborates with other members of division management in the selection of land and the creation of product, bringing an in-depth understanding of the division\u2019s markets, up-to-date consumer preferences and the competition to the discussion
Develops an external, local network to ensure continuous success of the Company\u2019s strategic plan relative to his/her local market
Minimum Bachelor\u2019s Degree, preferably in construction, finance or related field, Master\u2019s degree preferred
Eight (8) years strategic operations management experience in homebuilding
Eight (8) years experience leading teams in homebuilding operations
Five (5) years leadership experience with multi-department management.
Five (5) years field construction experience including multiple job site management
Five (5) years residential construction customer service experience
