Vice President, Global Clinical Trial Strategy & Operations
The Vice President of Global Clinical Trial Strategy and Operations is a senior executive level role considered essential to the sustainability and success of the BMS R&D pipeline. This role reports to the Head of Global Clinical Operations (GCO) and is a key member of the GCO Leadership Team.
Specifically, the Vice President of Global Clinical Trial Strategy & Operations is accountable for:
Providing strategic and operational leadership of the R&D entire oncology portfolio within global clinical operations (GCO).
Assuring the implementation of the oncology strategy through all phases of development, including marketed product support.
Driving the performance, operational quality, innovative development strategies/trial designs, and the timely contributions of GCO’s support of both early and late stage development teams, across the entire Oncology portfolio, including Non-Regulatory Data Generation.
Partnering with the GCR, GBS and GRS TA VPs, he/she provides oversight and leadership that ensures development teams design and execute programs that enable regulatory approvals, successful market access and generate valuable data for medical communication. Serving as an escalation point, when development teams are not able to resolve conflicts and is a core member of the Oncology Governance Committees.
Influencing the core decision-making strategy over the Marketed Products portfolio of compounds, through effective partnership with senior leaders in Development, Commercial, R&D Strategy & Planning, Medical, GBS and GRS.
Ensuring the operational execution of all oncology clinical development programs; providing operational insight into study designs; ensuring the timely recruitment of BMS-sponsored clinical trials; managing the collection and cleaning of clinical data; and maintaining relationships with key oncology clinical trial sites and investigators.
Leading a multi-national team of clinical trial professionals, who are experts in the execution of oncology operations, contributing significantly to BMS portfolio of clinical trials. Provides ongoing feedback, coaching, and career development, including engagement and retention support to staff in order to maximize their potential. Empowers and holds GCO management to high quality performance and delivery of the business.
Representing the Company in key interactions with key external partners as part of any oncology committee or industry group.
Serving as a leader across R&D, and developing strong and productive working relationships with key stakeholders throughout BMS with the ability to think strategically across a broad portfolio and effectively express his/her views to senior management.
Ensuring GCO representation as needed in governance or strategic teams or committees (preparatory materials, direct participation, or representative).
Engaging and energizing employees through communication of goals, priorities and other business critical information as well as focus on employee value proposition, development and retention activities.
