Vendor Relationship Manager
Delta Faucet Company has an outstanding opportunity for a vendor management professional to join our Information Services team at our Indianapolis world headquarters. The Vendor Relationship Manager manages the relationships with technology vendors and evaluates how those relationships fit into short and long-term solution strategies. This position oversees vendor performance and ensures consistent management of all proposals and contracts, including the development of specific standards for bidding and submission, contract negotiations and related document management. The Vendor Relationship Manager supports sourcing strategy, vendor relationships, negotiations and performance management for IS suppliers.
Create vendor service acquisition strategy and execute related action plans
Initiate and evaluate responses to RFIs, RFQ’s for services and award per strategy
Develop standards for contracts, including presentation of budget, payment terms, general language and provisions
Conduct contract discovery meetings to identify issues and stakeholder requirements, facilitate pricing discussions, and obtain stakeholder and IT management input on timelines and deliverables
Draft contractual provisions based on strategy discussions, IT management input, and organizational needs and expectations
Measure vendor performance through development, implementation and monitoring of Service Level Agreements (SLAs), Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and cost
Assure accuracy and appropriateness of contract text and attachments
Serve as primary organizational contact during contract negotiations
Collaborate with Procurement, Technical and Business teams for renewals and changes to existing agreements
Engage relevant stakeholders in negotiation decisions involving legal or regulatory requirements, contract standards and cost targets
Maintain deadlines on deliverables and communicate on an ongoing basis with stakeholders about contractual issues
Effectively manage relationships with external partners to ensuring continued service delivery and customer satisfaction
Effectively manage and utilize 3rd party suppliers and partners to ensure IT services are delivered according Delta’s expectations
Establish effective processes for managing the IT Delivery relationship on an ongoing basis.
Communicate IT standards and new IT solutions, processes, and policies to the businesses, functions, and geographies and to the IT delivery suppliers/partners
Host/support vendor management reviews as needed
Deliver briefings to IS Leadership at regular intervals to help keep them current with changes and performance against existing agreements with vendors
Manage Vendor Risk - Periodic and ad-hoc assessment of the vendors and to ensure that they are complying with agreed upon standards
Manage Vendor Audits
Ensure stakeholders are informed of contract additions / terminations to enable accurate budget forecasting
Education and Experience/Skills:
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor's degree in business or related field and 5 or more years of vendor management experience, preferably in an information technology environment; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in applying organizational standards when developing requests for proposals, negotiating terms and drafting contracts is required. Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is essential. Experience identifying, evaluating and developing new IT service vendors is required in execution of the role.
The successful candidate will have superior written and oral communication skills and the ability to convey complex information in a way that others can follow. Must be able to manage multiple, conflicting priorities, have a strong sense of urgency and the ability and desire to function in a team environment. Highly developed negotiation, persuasion, problem-solving, and analytical skills with demonstrated results are necessary. This position requires limited travel.
