As a Vehicle Technician Shift Manager, you will be responsible for scheduling general maintenance of our fleet vehicles. You have a mechanical background to understand and delegate the workload. You will jump in and assist with troubleshooting, removing, repairing and replacing all vehicle components as needed. Your team will be installing and repairing custom built computers, high tech sensors, and cameras. You must be able to operate comfortably in a fast-paced environment, sometimes managing up to four communication channels (via computer tools and verbal/written) simultaneously. You and your team will be working closely with Engineers and Researchers at Waymo to allow the technology to progress rapidly by building, installing, calibrating and testing proprietary systems.

Manage a team of technicians and dispatch repair and cleaning crews.

Intake work orders and requests from engineers, and schedule operations to teams.

Ensure our fleet of self driving vehicles are maintained to the highest standards.

Update work orders, spreadsheets and reports to stakeholders and cross-functional teams.


Minimum qualifications:

BA/BS degree in an Automotive field or equivalent practical experience.

2 years of experience as front-line supervisor and/or automotive repair manager.

Full driving license.

Preferred qualifications:

8 years of experience in the Automotive or related industry.

4 years of experience as an automotive repair facility manager.

Experience working with Linux, with the ability to create and manage dashboards.

Effective repair logic and attention to detail, utilizing basic computer skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
