Validation Technician

Kelly Services has multiple openings for Validation Technician role to support an ongoing project for our client in the high tech industry, at the Hillsboro, OR.

This will be direct on going contract employment on W2 with full benefits.

Job Descriptions:

The Validation Technician will be test planning & execution, documentation, and debugging. Working with the respective Test Lead, you will be assigned to focus on one of the following areas:

Base Driver Windows

Base Driver Linux

Base Driver Virtualization features

QoS, Windows

QoS, Linux

Daily Responsibilities:

The Validation Technician will:

Set up, execute Network tests.

Install troubleshooting test environment.

Install hardware (Network Adapters, Memory, Hard drives, CPUs, etc.) into server platform.

Update and configure server system BIOS.

Install Windows and Linux Operating Systems via PXE and ISO.

Write and execute automation scripts.

Configure Operating System using best known configuration documentation & scripts (PowerShell & BASH).

Install and configure network drivers using best known configuration documentation & script.

Execute Network tests (Throughput, Latency, IP Forwarding, etc.).

Validate test results against historical data.

Troubleshoot network HW/SW issues.

Report results using a standardized template.

Work both independently and within a team.

Job Requirements:

Technical Diploma or Associate Degree in related fields.

Proficiency in recent versions of the Microsoft Windows Server Operating Systems OR Linux operating systems including Ubuntu, RHEL and/or SLES.

Experience in network switch configuration including Dell, Mellanox, Cisco and Brocade.

Experience with Microsoft iSCSI or SanBlaze.

Experience working on the simulation environment like Simics.

Scripting experience with any of the following: PowerShell, VBScript, Python or Bash.

Experience with network capture tools (aka packet sniffers), including Wireshark or Teledyne Lecroy.

Experience with documenting the defects, test cases and test procedures.

Superb troubleshooting and diagnostic skills including ability to solve problems.

Understanding of compute virtualization via hypervisors like Hyper-V, ESXi or KVM.

Excellent English writing skills and good verbal communication skills.
