The incumbent will lead an annual strategy development process, that aligns with the LFN roadmap and translate the key P&L initiatives into cross-functional operating & financial plans with disciplined monitoring mechanisms to track and report results.ResponsibilitiesStrategy & Business Planning Leads, develops and implements strategy & business planning organizational goals, objectives and operating procedures that are focused on the core strategies within LFALeads strategic planning sessions and drives change activities required to implement strategy, maintain company operations, competitiveness while achieving financial objectivesLeads the development of strategic insights in support of key business decisions by analyzing data and competitive & market intelligenceDrives the development and facilitation of strategic management processes that ensure execution of LFA strategic objectives and the appropriate prioritization, approval, and implementation of strategic initiatives in alignment with the LFN strategic roadmapPartners with the Financial Planning and Analysis team in developing operational budgets, near-term forecasts and multi-year plans aligned with strategic and operational objectivesDesigns & builds mid to long term modeling and predictive capabilities for key business drivers and goals. Ensures LFA leadership team builds their business management acumen to leverage these models in their business review preparationProject Management & ExecutionTranslates strategic initiatives into cross functional project teams to execute on key initiatives.Directs and develops content for leadership team meetings\/offsites to facilitate strategic conversations and business plan updates in support of enhancing organizational capabilityGoverns strategic & financial goals and objectives and develops mechanisms to evaluate performance and provide periodic updates to the both LFA and LFN leadership teamsBuilds organizational capability of LFA leadership team to deliver accurate quarterly business and financial plan reviews and manages required change of course to meet goals or re-forecast as appropriate. Subsequently, prepares LFA leader to deliver quarterly business reviews to LFN leadership team.Relationship ManagementPartners with cross-functional teams to analyze and present key financial and strategic opportunities to senior leadership in a simple and compelling fashionDevelops and maintains strong relationships with the leadership team and cross-functional peers to ensure business plans and strategic initiatives are in alignment with the strategy and deployed throughout the organization, especially with LFD partners in regards to our Enterprise product salesIntegrates operating plans with key constituents across the enterprise to ensure resources are aligned and able to achieve financial and operational successLeadershipBuilds organizational capability within the LFA senior leadership team to increase business acumen of the leadership team.Leads resources throughout LFN that complement the business responsible for providing competitive, analytical and financial insights as well as program management for specific strategic initiativesWorks directly with HR to provide training and development opportunities, including stretch assignments, for the LFA senior leadership and team members and gives honest and open feedback to aid in the development of talentEducationUndergraduate degree or 4 years of comparable work experience required; Education concentration is Finance, Business or Accounting preferred.MBA or Advanced Degree preferredExperience12 years of progressive responsibility in finance including strategy development, deployment and change leadership preferably in financial services including 5 years of senior management experience in a large complex organization including influencing senior management and critical stakeholder responsibility.Finance and\/or pricing experience with an Insurance or Independent Broker-Dealer requiredProject Management experience requiredStrong interpersonal and relationship managements skills and keen ability to influence without authority to accomplish cross organizational initiativesDirect sales, marketing and\/or sales leadership experience a plusSix sigma certified or consulting experience a plusA demonstrated track record of consistently meeting and\/or exceeding performance expectationsPossesses a bias for action and avoids workplace distractionsDrives performance targets to completionTechnical Experience in strategy mapping, running strategic initiatives and developing balanced scorecardsBroad financial acumen with financial modeling experienceKnowledge of insurance, retirement plans and\/or independent broker-dealer operationsComprehensive understanding and knowledge of Taxation, Statutory Results, Generally Accepted Accounting Principals (GAAP), Sarbanes-Oxley 404, and compliance requirements of other financial statutesThis position may be subject to Lincolns Political Contribution Policy.
