This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well respected and collaborative in-house User Research team, translating insights to highly engaged and motivated stakeholders within a major corporation while working on products and services that impact millions of customers.\u003C/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u003C/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003EThe User Research team employs a variety of techniques including usability testing and customer interviews in our onsite usability labs, field research in customers' homes, remote testing, surveys, diary and more to gather data and develop insights critical to improving our customers' experience with our products. We work closely with experience design, product, business and engineering teams to identify opportunities for research. Our work touches multiple platforms including digital interfaces (online, mobile and TV), print artifacts, industrial design and service design initiatives.\u003C/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u003C/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003ERESPONSIBILITIES:\u003C/strong\u003E\u003C/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u003C/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003E\u003Cu\u003EUser Research Facilitation and Synthesis (90%)\u003C/u\u003E\u003C/strong\u003E\u003C/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E- Partner with stakeholders to design generative and evaluative studies to gain user insights, validate concepts, and uncover new product or business opportunities.\u003C/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E- Recommend appropriate methodologies, draft research plans.\u003C/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E- Perform activities such as heuristic reviews, industry research, data mining and competitive reviews.\u003C/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E- Lead and/or participate in primary research studies with customers (remote, in lab or in field), including:\u003C/p\u003E\u003Cul style=\list-style-type:circle;\\u003E
\u003Cli\u003EDiscussion guide development, participant recruitment, and preparation of testing materials and prototypes by other teams.\u003C/li\u003E
\u003Cli\u003EFacilitate and observe studies in our in-house user research labs and in the field (e.g. in customer homes, in call centers, on truck rolls) to gain first-hand knowledge of user behaviors.\u003C/li\u003E
\u003Cli\u003EAnalyze findings and synthesize findings with past relevant research, market research and other secondary sources to strengthen and reinforce the output of studies.\u003C/li\u003E
\u003Cli\u003ETranslate research insights into actionable recommendations and direction.\u003C/li\u003E
\u003C/ul\u003E\u003Cp\u003E- Deliver data and insights from all activities and studies in presentations and readouts.\u003C/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E- Support senior staff in development of UX models, personas and frameworks based on direct user evidence.\u003C/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E- Encourage members of design, business, and product teams to be involved as partners in studies to gain first-hand knowledge of user behaviors, mental models and needs.\u003C/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u003C/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003E\u003Cu\u003EResearch Practice Development (10%)\u003C/u\u003E\u003C/strong\u003E\u003C/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E- Contribute to a team toolkit of research methods, techniques and publications that showcase subject matter expertise.\u003C/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E- Maintain the highest standards of product usability and quality, take a lead role in delivering best in class experiences to ensure that projects are delivered to expectations and on time.\u003C/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E- Ensure a positive, collaborative cross-functional team atmosphere.\u003C/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u003C/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E\u003Cstrong\u003EEXPERIENCE REQUIRED:\u003C/strong\u003E\u003Cbr\u003E\u003C/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E- Degree in Psychology, Anthropology, Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, Digital Media, Human Factors, Cognitive Science related discipline or equivalent experience. Masters degree a plus.\u003C/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E- 2-5 years experience planning, conducting, analyzing and reporting on user studies for discovery and evaluation; comfortable facilitating interviews.\u003C/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E- Familiarity with a range of user research methods used to gather qualitative and quantitative data (contextual interviews, formative and summative usability testing, focus groups, card sorting, survey development, secondary research analysis, competitive analysis, etc.)\u003C/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E- Experience using remote usability tools such as usertesting.com or UserZoom is a plus.\u003C/p\u003E\u003Cp\u003E- Familiarity testing with prototypes (rough drafts and sketches, paper prototypes, working prototypes) and live builds.
