User Experience (UX) Connectivity Strategist

Position Overview/Description:

We are looking for a seasoned UX connectivity strategist to help guide our future strategy for a connected vehicle for Ford and Lincoln. You will be part of a multidisciplinary UX team that will envision and design future experiences (hardware, software and services) in and around vehicles.

The Ford Global UX Team is a growing team committed to envisioning and creating simple, thoughtful, enjoyable and compelling product experiences that continually inspire our teams and customers to go further.

Our diverse Global User Experience Team is comprised of researchers, interaction designers, visual designers, industrial designers, modelers, and project managers. Together our team works to provide the best in vehicle interaction to satisfy our global customer needs.

Responsibilities:

Work closely with Electrical Engineering, Connect Vehicle and Services, Studio, and Marketing to deliver connectivity specifications (ie. Logic and flow, wireframes, and planning for digital models) for center stack screens, and mobile apps including Ford Pass and Lincoln Way.

Guide research and development of connection strategies and roadmaps for cross-platform interaction (center stack, mobile device, web)

Research and analyze competitor’s implementation of connectivity strategy.

Identify and track all open issues to ensure specification and design deliverables against program timing are met.

Manage diverse collaborative teams of Engineers, Marketers, Designers, Regulatory, Marketing, User Experience and Program Management individuals throughout the design to delivery process

Self-motivated with a high-level of responsibility, professionalism and attention to detail

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Ergonomics or Interaction Design

3 years of experience in HMI/HCI development, design, and research

Preferred Qualifications:

Master degree in Information Technology, Engineering, Ergonomics, Interaction Design or Equivalent

5 years of experience in HMI/HCI development, design, and research

Previous experience with SYNC product development

2 years Usability Testing experience

Exceptional communication skills (writing, listening, presenting, persuading)

Excellent teamwork, leadership, interpersonal, and global communication skills

Practical knowledge of Visio and Microsoft Office apps

Experience working with Industrial Designers, Engineers, Researchers and Marketing
