Senior Broadcast Media Buyer

Job Summary:

The responsibility of the Senior Broadcast Media Buyer is to negotiate and manage client plans and buys for national TV media that effectively correlate with our clients' goals and objectives; while also managing and mentoring the Coordinator personnel in the department.

As a member of this team, you'll use your analytical nature, media agency background, vendor relationships and love of all things TV to manage & negotiate client plans for some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry. Mathematical & analytical skills, stellar communication skills, adoration for strategy and advanced knowledge of Excel, is required. You'll be responsible for everything from planning costs to posting and everything in between.

Key Areas of Responsibility:

* The Senior Broadcast Media Buyer devises strategies for TV media plans and oversees TV buying activities

* Creates and presents strategic TV media recommendations to internal staff

* Adhere to buying guidelines and meet all required due dates

* Explores and maintains research, innovations and changes that affect the TV buying landscape

* The Senior Broadcast Media Buyer builds relationships with media representatives to maintain business partnerships, gives account updates and briefings for cross-media platforms

* Negotiates best price and media placement for clients

* Negotiate added value, promotional opportunities and any other elements that may be unique to the market

* Supervises and monitors media schedules and contracts with outside media vendors

* Collects and verifies network contracts

* Reconcile billing discrepancies so invoices can be paid

* Manage delivery for posts and secure any compensatory weight that may be required

* The Senior Broadcast Media Buyer creates and presents post reports both internally and for the client

* Maintains ownership of accounts with an enthusiastic, entrepreneurial spirit

* Manages positions on lower level (Broadcast Coordinator) while effectively 'managing up' to ensure communication and effective performance

Qualifications:

* Bachelor's Degree

* 3-4 years of media buying experience within agency and/or client environment

* Must have extensive market knowledge, strong market/vendor relationships in all national media disciplines

* Strong negotiation skills

* Must be an analytical thinker with strong media math and research skills

* Strong computer skills: Word, Excel, PowerPoint

* Strong verbal communication skills and demonstrated client service
