Come join Aetna’s growing AFA team in a unique underwriting role. We are seeking an experienced medical underwriter who has an interest in reporting and project management.
As the Underwriting Tech Lead, the candidate will be responsible for leading project management and reporting function for the Small Group AFA Underwriting team. The successful candidate will work with AFA Management as well as cross functional business partners managing projects, coordinate with underwriting training leads, and oversee the various data reporting needs of the Underwriting team. In addition the reporting component of the role in particular will provide exposure to senior leaders supporting AFA.
Participates in projects that have significant business-wide implications.
Establishes procedures and develops workflow to ensure quality service and timely response to customers.
Maintenance & Enhancements- Prioritize changes and enhancements to processes, tools and systems.
Interaction with Constituents- Initiate and support collaboration with internal constituents.
Testing- Review data, for errors, data warranting further analysis, or questionable data prior to publication.
Extensive (7 years) experience in medical underwriting pricing methodologies and funding arrangements, preferably small group underwriting.
Previous experience with leading projects.
Demonstrated strong analytical and independent thinking skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated leadership skills.
Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of management.
Ability to use standard corporate software packages and corporate applications.
The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
