The UX Design Lead

will be responsible for leading the design of multiple project initiatives, appropriately contributing to our next gen vision, ensuring project contribution meets business goals, deadlines and quality. Proactively solve issues affecting internal and external UX team momentum. Support the appropriate ecosystem / systems mindset, enabling and supporting building brick and library methodologies to drive efficiency and effectiveness through leverage. Work closely with the design leads to ensure deliverables are consistent with the overall design system.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead and manage the creation of design deliverables for specific work streams that meet or exceed team standards

• Drive design process and proactively collaborate in participatory design reviews and activities

• Manage the contributions to the design system pattern library

• Distinguish design work through professionalism as well as caliber of the design solution

• Form effective trust based relationships with program stakeholders and partners

• Influence the appropriate ecosystem / systems mindset, enabling and supporting building brick and library methodologies to drive efficiency and effectiveness through leverage

• Collaborate with user research and design strategy to develop user feedback context and feedback plan

• Attract, build and retain the talent required to operate a high performance team, nurture staff capabilities and development

• Provide team management rigor: schedules, reviews, resource planning, visibility

• Work closely with the design leads to ensure deliverables are contribute to and are consistent with design languages and systems

• Co-lead project plans and schedules with Agile team triad

SCOPE AND IMPACT

· Responsible for leading a product and/or service, or highly complex feature areas across multiple products

· Execute processes and produce artifacts in support of the group

· Train and coach others in performance of duties

· Serve as the representative of the group's interests in meetings and discussions

DECISION MAKING

· Use sound judgment and discretion to provide recommendations; lead group discussions to give input to decisions

· Identify unaddressed issues within assigned features, and resolve or escalate to owners to ensure the high quality

· Recommend and make decisions affecting one or more projects

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & EXPERIENCE

· Significant experience designing world class digital experiences

· Experienced information architecture and interaction design skills

· Understanding how designs translate to code and can prototype to convey design intent

· Proven understanding of UX design thinking innovation and methodologies

· Demonstrated ability to achieve business goals through great UX

· Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities on concurrent, rigorous deadlines in a fast-paced dynamic environment

· Experience leading small to medium size teams

· Skilled ability to influence project strategy by communicating conceptual ideas and design rationale

USER CENTERED DESIGN & AGILE PRACTICES

· Design Thinking and Iterative Design: Use judgment and discretion to continuously improve designs and feature experiences. Design through successive iterations, based on a design thinking practices of insights, concepts, implementation and user testing.

· Agile Practices: Contribute to design or research process over successive milestones to improve quality and alignment to product roadmaps and engineering workflows.
