Treasury MBA Program - Treasury Manager IEcolab - Saint Paul, MN
The Ecolab Treasury MBA Program develops individuals who have the long-term potential to serve as functional leaders and general managers at Ecolab and who are interested in corporate Treasury experience. As a member of this selective program, you will gain broad Treasury experiences in our St. Paul, MN or Naperville, IL offices. In addition, this program will allow you the opportunity to gain exposure to our senior leaders and network with your finance peers across the organization. Finally, the program has a strong alumni network of executives who have worked in the Treasury department throughout the past twenty years.
Upon hire, you will be placed into Ecolab’s corporate Treasury department with an opportunity to work in a variety of roles. These positions will require technical finance experience, have a high level of visibility and provide opportunities to work with our international finance teams on a daily basis. Upon completion of 1-2 rotations and 1-4 years in the Treasury MBA Program, you will rotate into a business-facing or other corporate role with the deep experience and perspective from working in the Treasury department. Those who are interested in a longer-term Treasury career may rotate back into the Treasury department in more senior roles. Initial placements may be in the following areas:
CAPITAL MARKETS AND INVESTMENTS
Provide analytical and execution support for recommendations on Capital Markets activities including debt issuances and share repurchases. Analyze financial risk management activities including research, evaluation and assessment of interest rate and commodity derivatives. Coordinate with actuaries, investment managers, and pension advisors on key initiatives and management of the Benefits Finance Committee. Support benefits finance activities, including oversight and reporting of the U.S. pension and 401(k) plans and international pension plans. Provide analytical support for recommendations on investment policy, asset allocation, and funding strategy. Work closely with other functions and departments to drive projects and resolve issues (i.e. Accounting, Human Resources, Tax, Legal)
Responsible for managing global cash and short-term liquidity for Ecolab. Activities include cash management, forecasting, Commercial Paper issuances; upgrading and improving treasury and cash management processes and systems; managing intercompany loans; establishing and maintaining treasury metrics, performance indicators, treasury policies and internal controls. Projects include optimization of the global banking network, including analyzing bank fee structures, services and credit levels and counterparty credit quality.
Responsible for supporting all aspects of global foreign exchange management, analysis, and reporting. Activities include reviewing and summarizing FX exposure reports from relevant entities, trading FX contracts through al trading platform, calculating FX contract settlements and organizing payments and receipts with local finance, providing month-end journal entries for hedged entities, performing “effectiveness testing” on outstanding cash flow hedges each quarter-end, compiling required documentation for Sarbanes-Oxley controls, and reviewing periodic FX hedge offset by entity--working with local finance to reconcile any material net P&L impacts. In addition to assisting with these monthly and quarterly processes, the role will provide ad hoc FX analysis as necessary, as well as assist in FX aspects of various Treasury and Tax projects.
INTERNAL FINANCE COMMITTEE
Responsible for optimizing the operating, tax, foreign exchange and capital funding requirements of Ecolab’s foreign operations and holding companies. The Internal Finance Committee (IFC) team works closely with Ecolab’s tax, accounting and legal departments to determine the repatriation of cash, approve cash infusions and approve changes to the company’s legal structure. In addition, the IFC team collaborates with the cash management and foreign exchange teams on foreign liquidity and reducing hedging costs wherever possible.
Currently pursuing an MBA with a concentration in Finance
Anticipated graduation date of May/June 2018 or full-time start in summer 2018
A minimum of four years of professional experience. Prior Financial experience a plus
Proven leadership skills with the ability to drive self, lead others and provide guidance to senior leaders
Strong analytical, critical thinking and problem solving skills. Ability to translate financial analysis into insights and action plans.
Demonstrated results oriented and project management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities
Superior written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact with multiple levels of management, across functional and business areas, and external customers
