The Transportation Analyst is responsible for coordinating and scheduling all outbound shipments and/or maintaining

the proper inventory levels at assigned plants and/or distribution centers to ensure optimal customer service while

maintaining cost efficiency across the supply chain network. This includes the discretion to make daily transportation

financial decisions aligned with functional Logistics and Corporate goals and initiatives.

Specific Responsibilities

Utilize forecast and MRP software to maintain optimal finished inventory levels in distribution centers to ensure

on-time deliveries to meet customer requirements and to reduce delivery delinquencies while minimizing

carrying costs and premium transportation charges.

Analyze, evaluate, plan and execute transportation routings for customer and internal shipments; including

carrier selection, mode optimization, and cost optimization while maintaining target financial and customer

service levels.

Develop, implement and continually analyze effective monitoring, evaluation and improvement actions for

performance of all carrier services to ensure shipment integrity, on-time delivery, and effective claims/invoicing


Evaluate both internal and external logistics trends and analyze data for cost reduction opportunities and work

within Supply Chain and across functions to achieve desired outcomes.

Perform daily customer service reviews and coordinate the interaction between planning and customer service

to ensure that inventory is available to meet customer shipments.

Communicate and track shipment issues to ensure proper feedback to both internal and external customers, as

well as with carrier partners.

Coordinate inbound routing requests with vendors and use discretion to authorize cost-effective returns as

Key Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Logistics or related field

3-5 years of Logistics, Supply Chain, Transportation, Traffic, or related experience

Strong communication, with all levels of the organization

Completes task with a sense of urgency

Good listening, teamwork, and attention to detail

Reliable with patience and professionalism

Use of Microsoft outlook and MS Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualifications:

Logistics experience with a proven transportation planning and analysis track record
