Training Specialist with Focus on Clincal Training

The Training Specialist conducts training programs for middle management and front line employees with an emphasis on regulatory compliance-driven and professional development learning that is hospital/unit specific. Trainer(s) may specialize in specific training delivery such as Community Based Residential Facilities (CBRF) classes (e.g., Medication Administration, Fire Safety, Standard Precautions and First Aid & Chocking), orientations or other specialties. Prepares for and delivers high quality learning events while remaining open-minded about what can be done better. Focuses not only on transfer of knowledge, but also the creation of a learning experience that shapes behaviors that are reflective of the Rogers culture. This position requires constant contact with other employees and connectivity to the overall corporate strategies to help and improve employee careers and organizational performance.

This position is one of three Training Specialists and will focus more on the clinical side of learning/training; however, will facilitate other soft skills and professional development classes as well. The clinical training will include instructing new hires and current staff on:

All Training Specialists are responsible for ensuring the highest level of delivery and manage classroom expectations such as engagement, flexibility for on-the-spot corrections or changes of direction, evaluating content for use and applicability, and develop training. Training Specialists participate in organizational projects to support learning programs.

To be successful in this role, candidates with work experience in the mental health field is preferred. Candidates coming from positions in mental health in the fields of Social Worker, Licensed Professional Counselor, Therapeutic Specialist, Behavioral Specialist or Mental Health Professional would have a clear understanding of the behavioral health clinical content listed above will have priority.

Must be able to work independently and complete assignments within specified times.

Ability to converse and exchange information.

Numerical ability required to maintain records.

Must be able to read and communicate through written, verbal and auditory skills and abilities.

Physically/Mentally able to perform job duties as verified by a physical exam by a licensed physician, per post-employment physical.

Ability to work in a face-paced and evolving environment.

Available to work non-standard schedule in order to fulfill assigned duties and responsibilities, including weekends and evenings as needed.

Lifting and carrying items weighing up to 25 lbs.

Flexibility as to work area and assignments.

The ability to write/type accurately, and effectively communicate information and ideas.

Ability to operate a computer and efficiently use a variety of computer software.

Work takes place inside the building at a desk the majority of the time, with some walking and standing. Reaching and handling are necessary to operate various pieces of office machinery.

Must be able to travel to branch office locations to conduct training sessions.

Frequent stair-climbing is required, based on office location. Stooping, bending, kneeling and flexible movements are required to work with orientation equipment.

Required Experience

Education/Training Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Education, Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, Psychology, Social Work, or related field is required, OR six (6) years equivalent experience (group facilitation, training, and/or related behavioral health experience).

Minimum two (2) years of experience in a training/education or organizational development role. Must be able to use group facilitation and intervention skills. Strong ability to speak effectively in interpersonal situations and before large/small groups of employees, including executives and medical staff.

Valid Wisconsin driver’s license.

Community Based Residential Facility (CBRF) Trainer for the State of Wisconsin

Association of Training and Development (ATD) Certified Learning Professional (CLP)
