Test Engineer II, Chillers','WD30042273007','!*!What you will do The Test Engineer will “manage” a test throughout the process from test design and planning through execution to completion including preliminary analysis of data results. This individual possesses multiple backgrounds that include a working knowledge of HVAC/R and related test facility operation, along with other applicable technologies so they can singularly manage the testing process for individual test subjects in order to successfully and efficiently complete testing within the product area. They will conceive, develop, and evaluate plans for solving complex testing challenges. An advanced level team contributor with strong technical expertise in HVAC who will assist in training of personnel in the laboratory as well as defining and supporting the implementation of operational improvement of testing.How you will do itProvide technical and communications liaison for test engineering to project customer(s).Plan and execute tests of chillers and components. This may include:Participate in the development of and/or receive test specifications from customer group; seek out and acquire customers from other areas/disciplines who may wish to benefit from testing a particular subject.Use input from the customer group(s) and work with Testing and Facilities to facilitate test plans and identify resource (human, physical) requirements.Meet with any/all groups to disseminate and agree upon test plans.Work with Testing and Facilities as necessary to schedule tests and required resources.Acquire and provide input and set up data acquisition software.Work with Test & Facilities Management team, customer groups, and other resources to actively manage the test from set up to completion. This includes daily monitoring and planning, communication, direct data acquisition, review data acquired, provide engineering analysis of data acquired, problem resolution, and other activities necessary in order to efficiently perform and complete testing in a timely fashion.Upon test completion perform or see to the collation and processing of all data (this will occur during testing); perform a final (“first-cut”) analysis of data, report findings to customer group, and communicate all final information, data, reports, other deliverables to customer group(s). See to data management/archival.Follow, and participate with creation, of standard procedures, test standards and processes.Use experience to recommend the development of, or develop new procedures, processes, resources geared to the ability to provide more efficient, accurate, or advanced testing services.Adhere to the Company’s Code of Conduct and Business Ethics standards.','!*!What we look for TRAVEL REQUIREMENTSOccasional travel for training and to support other JCI facilities, vendors, or customers is required.  EDUCATION/EXPERIENCEBS requiredA minimum combination of four(4) years direct work experience in HVAC/R equipment development testing, ideally with a good understanding of HVAC/R systems, concepts, and diagnostics, as applied to both test subjects and test facilities, platform design and development, or product technical support.Desired background in engineering and development testing, with use of a variety of test instrumentation to perform test data acquisition and data analysis, test troubleshooting and diagnostics, technical reporting, and related communication at various levels is required.SKILLS AND ABILITIESWorks under minimal supervision. Assignments are carried out collaboratively within lab team and customer groups. Spear-heads process initiatives within department. High level of product family competency. Recognized expert in one or more technical and operational disciplines within HVAC platform development. Experienced in environments ranging from laboratory to manufacturing/testing facilities to field sites.Able to work in fast-paced, schedule driven work environment.
