Job Summary and Scope
The Territory Finance Analyst is responsible for any combination of financial and business information and analysis in support of the company's annual planning, forecasting and reporting processes. This position will provide support to the Region Manager Financial Planning & Analysis and the various leaders within the organization.
As a key member of multiple Territory Lead Teams, provide direction and leadership to enable the territory/division to raise the standard of performance and achieve or exceed the financial and strategic goals. Areas of responsibility include but are not limited to: business analysis, strategic and tactical planning, budgeting, financial reporting, and compliance to corporate and governmental financial regulations. The Financial Analyst 4 works with minimal supervision.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Prepare profitability reports by customer for the sales team, provides insights and recommendations on opportunities to Sales Managers and General Managers
Work with accounting to ensure the integrity of our financial results at month end close
Understand and analyze the performance drivers of our business as compared to prior year budget and present findings to lead teams
Provide support to the General Managers and Sales Managers & participate on special projects that are in alignment with company-wide goals, including synergy tracking, providing insights and recommendations
Support monthly business review process and actively participate on these reviews
Develop a strong technical understanding of our Activity Based Costing Tool in order to become a company reference for the tool
Involved in the maintenance of our Activity Based Costing Tool
Create, prepare and analyze various sales and margin scenarios
Prepare presentations in support of Territory Lead Team meetings
Provide analysis and advice on cost reduction plans
Manage the annual budgeting process and forecasts. Update required budget tools and templates as required.
As a member of the territory lead team, reports on assigned areas of responsibility including financial results, strategic planning, budgeting, and internal controls.
Interact with Veritiv corporate financial management to ensure alignment with corporate goals and initiatives.
Preparation and review of Capital Requests & periodic project reviews
Review significant bids, non-routine business proposals, etc. to ensure business is conducted in an ethical, profitable, and prudent manner.
Ensure compliance with records retention policies.
Become knowledgeable of safety work practices and perform all duties in a safe manner. Support safety programs.
Physical Inventory support as needed
Prepare, analyze and review equipment and Printing Plate & Dispenser up-charge agreements
Advanced Spreadsheet skills, experience working with macros, financial modeling
Working knowledge and direct application of balance sheet, income statement and cash flow concepts
Ability to adapt presentation materials to audience and present in front of small groups
Strong interpersonal skills to work across multiple functions in the organization
Problem-solving skills (analytical and intuitive)
Time management skills & capacity to manage priorities and respect important deadlines
Autonomous and organizational skills
Must enjoy precise work, requires an affinity for details
University degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
CPA / CMA or other professional certification preferred
MBA or other advanced professional degree preferred
Minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting/finance
Experience with Hyperion, Smartview and Essbase preferred
Working Conditions/Physical Experience:
Position will require moderate travel
