RTG (Restorative Therapies Group) Overview

PAIN THERAPIES offers solutions — from early interventional procedures to implantable surgical technologies — that treat chronic pain as well as pain from spinal fractures, cancer and severe spasticity.

SPECIALTY THERAPIES offers a broad portfolio that addresses urologic and gastrointestinal disorders, conditions of the ear, nose and throat, as well as electrosurgical products for soft tissue dissection and hemostatic sealing of soft tissue and bone.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

This position has the responsibility and authority to develop and maintain a variety of documents including Design Control documents, test protocols and reports, Instructions For Use (IFU) documents, and other technical materials used in the development of neurovascular products. Responsibilities include identification of document requirements, working with product developers and cross-functional team members to obtain the necessary information, and distill this information into detailed, accurate, professional documentation. Complete, route, and follow through with electronic forms required to release documentation and collaborate with team members and approvers to ensure timely release. Technical information will be presented clearly and concisely. Candidates for this position will be required to manage multiple projects concurrently, adjust priorities frequently, overcome obstacles to meet deadlines, and be responsible for preparing, coordinating, tracking, and finalizing documentation projects as required.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Identify document requirements and obtain necessary information from various sources.

•Learn and understand the design and behavior of the company’s products.

•Design, develop, and maintain documentation using Microsoft Office and other software applications.

•Provide documentation support to the Product Development teams.

•Perform the administrative documentation tasks required to establish and track documentation through release and subsequent revision.

•Continuously evaluate design control and departmental procedures and processes, identify improvement opportunities, and implement improvements.

•Proofread and edit the work of other writers.

•Perform all activities in compliance with the Quality System.

•Performs duties in compliance with environmental, health and safety related site rules, policies or governmental regulations.

•All other duties as assigned.

•Travel requirement: Less than 10%

BASIC _QUALIFICATIONS:_

_IN ORDER TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION, THE FOLLOWING BASIC QUALIFICATIONS MUST BE EVIDENT ON YOUR RESUME_

EDUCATION REQUIRED:

•BS / BA English, Communications, or Journalism or a related degree.

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:

•2 years of technical writing or technical editing experience in a technical publications group.

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

•Proficient with Microsoft Office products

•Proficient with FrameMaker® software

•Proficient with Adobe Acrobat® and PhotoShop® software, vector graphics software (e.g. Adobe Illustrator® or CoreDraw) and HTML.

•Preferable experience in the medical or scientific software field

•Experience with Structured Authoring using XML and content management solutions.

•Proficient with FrameMaker® software
