Technical TrainerManpower US - San Diego, CA
The right candidate will have 3 years Technical Training and/or Instructional Design background. The candidate will develop training materials using a variety of instructional techniques, systematic design process & support tools to develop training content, job aids, written scripts for instructor led and self-paced online materials. This candidate will research, assess and make recommendations for instructional curricula and products based on company strategy.
This is a position for a creative and flexible problem-solver, with extensive attention to detail, and has an artistic ability to design fresh, clean and creative training. The candidate must be comfortable delivering training when called upon, and prides herself/himself on producing quality training deliverables in a fast-paced innovative environment.
Conduct computer training needs assessment by collecting information pertaining to work procedures, work flow, and reports; understanding job-specific functions and tasks.
Determine system utilization requirements by researching and testing systems.
Designs computer training manuals by identifying and describing information needs; using desktop publishing; submitting initial versions for review; revising and editing final copy.
Conduct training classes by presenting job-specific, company-specific, and generic software applications and personal computer classes.
Performs new hire employee training, coaching and assistance related to all applications.
Maintain quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
Maintain technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing publications.
Manage and works on multiple, large scale, complex training projects concurrently.
Able to independently develop entry and advanced level Learning programs and support materials for a wide range of audiences.
Ability to design learning curriculum that is engaging, interesting and easy for learner to use and retain information.
Assure overall quality of the curriculum exceeds expectations; this includes all course materials, job aids, Train- the-trainer tools, and other resources.
Has a great talent for basic design and can borrow existing designs to maintain and update content and materials.
Extremely detailed with the ability to work under pressure, remaining organized and structured with task completion.
- Ability to problem solve, define problems in practical terms, analyze critically, recommend solutions and follow through to resolution
- Must have the ability to verbalize or express complex technical concepts effectively
- Encourages communication of new ideas, solutions, suggestions and problems and reviews for appropriate action or implementation
- Develops and implements escalation process for procedural and process training issues.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by management
· 3 years of relevant work experience
Demonstrated experience designing and developing training. Work samples are required.
Be prepared. Show your best PowerPoint, workbook, job aids or other materials.
MUST HAVE minimum 3 years of experience developing training materials. This is NOT an entry level position.
Ability to create procedures and training content as well as, edit content existing content.
Exceptional grammar, spelling and attention to detail.
Authoring Tools desired (Word, PowerPoint, Adobe Captivate, Photoshop or similar applications, and social learning tools).
Excellent PC skills with Microsoft Office including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word.
Problem-solving skills and the ability to follow the problem through to resolution are essential.
Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
Must be a self-directed, self-starter who works well with a team.
Effective project management skills are critical for success.
Ability to assemble effective training curriculums in a fast-paced and innovative environment.
Identify and implement methods to support and deliver added value to the client.
Ability to research a subject and use subject matter experts to develop educational, interesting and regulatory accurate materials in a storyboard format.
Knowledge of Instructional Design theory and Adult Learning.
Extensive attention to detail
Experience with scripting and recording training videos and/or detailed interactive simulations.
Experience working in a constantly changing, fast growing, small business work environment or start up is a plus
