The primary function is the commissioned sales of Reliability Service Agreements to commercial, industrial, and governmental customers. This includes the construction of customer-sited backup generation systems and the purchase, operation, and maintenance of existing customer-owned backup generation systems.
*Establish and maintain contact with new commercial, industrial, and government accounts to sell 10 to 20-year Reliability Service Agreements. *Locate customers with existing backup generation and develop purchase agreements to acquire the generation assets. *Work with Internal Engineering staff to develop proposals to upgrade the generating systems for grid connection to maximize the value of the generating assets. *Leverage a network of external relationships and third-party channels to identify qualified leads. *Lead the process of developing proposals and closing deals, by working with cross-functional teams to identify customer needs, recommend technical solutions and prepare financial proposals. Ensure buy-in from the customer and obtain internal approvals for deals. *Work with development support to establish project cost estimates. *Prepare financial models to support Reliability Service Agreement proposals. *Develop and present PowerPoint presentations for customers and other affiliated sales organizations within NRG. *Research grid and utility incentive rates that support the installation or use of customer-sited backup generation. *Provide regular (weekly or as needed) updates on the status of all customer proposals and the results of customer contacts. *Work with corporate legal department to craft and negotiate contract terms and conditions agreeable to both the customer and NRG. *Maintain relationships and contact with existing customers to develop additional projects and services to meet their evolving and future needs. *Other duties as assigned.

Displays broad understanding of customer relationship building, the sales process, project development, financial modeling, and contract negotiations. *Customer Focus: Responsively addresses the needs of the customer. Accurately diagnoses customer needs. Communicates effectively with customers. Establishes customer rapport.
*Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Communications, Accounting or Marketing. In lieu of aforementioned degree, an equivalent combination of education and/or experience in sales, equipment leasing, or the development of backup generation projects may be considered. *Must have experience working with Microsoft Excel *Must have and maintain a valid driver's license

*Able to work effectively with customers and contractors. Must maintain effective working relationships with diverse work groups. *Must be comfortable assisting with the outlining, development, and negotiating of typical business service contracts. *Must have good oral, written, and interpersonal skills. *Able to learn quickly. Works well independently as well as part of a team. *Must value and practice safety, common sense and good judgment.
*Must be willing to travel to customer locations in multiple states for site assessment, presentations, and meetings. *Travel may include week-long trips for trade shows, research and proposal development in multiple states. *Expected to work extra hours when necessary or when workload requires. *Nature of position requires building and maintaining an extensive internal and external network of contacts *Work will be conducted in the field, at customers' facilities, at various company office locations, and from remote working locations as dictated by the nature of individual customers' projects. *Employees are required to work safely, following the guidelines of company Basic Safety Rules, and completing annual safety training. *While on-site visits, the employee is required to wear all necessary Personal Protective Equipment, including a hard hat, safety hard-toed boots, hearing protection (when required) and safety glasses. *May be required to work around rotating and energized equipment, hazardous materials, and chemicals. *Occasionally requires lifting as appropriate to perform duties and responsibilities.
