The company provides broadband, voice, video, data and managed services over a robust 250,000-route-mile U.S. fiber network and a 300,000-route-mile international transport network.Job Title: Technical Project Manager II - Federal Description: The Primary responsibility of the Technical Project Manager II (PM) is to manage all aspects of communication implementation projects including coordination of service delivery and provide leadership and management of vendor staff that install the required infrastructure. The Technical Project Manager II (PM) will work with others in a team environment as a member of an organization responsible for the coordination of site surveys, installations, circuit delivery, testing and turn-up of communications systems.  This effort will require scheduling and coordination of installation vendor activities as well as CenturyLink technical resources to ensure the successful implementation of the communications system equipment up to customer acceptance.  This requires inter-departmental teaming, the ability to elicit support from other organizations, communicating with vendors, customer facing management and sales teams and doing whatever is necessary to support the customer's design and installation needs. The PM may be responsible for overseeing multiple projects simultaneously. Duties and Responsibilities: Defines projects based on Program\/customer requirements, schedule planning and implementation, budgeting, and quality control of customer deliverablesProvides leadership and coordination for assigned projects using a matrix team conceptAttends various governmental and general meetings as requiredProvides status updates to management and customers as requiredPractice project management and industry best practices to enhance project success and customer satisfactionManage and coordinate ISP\/OSP and circuit delivery projects from design through customer acceptance.Performs Quality Checks (QC) on all site surveys for assigned projects for delivery to customers as required by contractsIdentifies all problem areas on jobs and discusses with team members and others as needed Oversees Subcontractor installation vendorsUpdates the Program Manager weekly on the status of projects or as required.  Provides inputs to written weekly reports to customers as requiredManages and coordinates projects from order through deliveryKeeps detailed records of daily work\/project activities for future referenceUnderstands and adheres to company policies and practicesEnsures the successful completion of customer project requirementsCoordinates subcontractors and equipment to complete projects on schedule and within budgetOther related duties as assigned   Qualifications: Requires minimum 3 years experience with CTL Products and Systems or  government related  utility\/communications construction management or Telecom experience.BS or equivalent work experience (8 years experience in construction engineering\/management or comminucations discipline)Strong interpersonal, communication, customer service, account relationship, time management, organizational and negotiating skillsStrong written and verbal communication skillsComputer literate with working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Project, Outlook, SharePoint and ability to work in other software systems as requiredAbility to work independantly as well as in a team environmentAble to travel by auto or airplane on short notice for surveys, meetings, and inspection workAble to work on drawings and spreadsheets for extended periodsMust possess a clean driving recordPoesses high integrity and ethical behaviorFlexible, independent decsion makerUS Citizenship required  Preferred Job Qualifications: Working knowledge of physical layer interfaces and structured cabling system components to include DS-0, T-1, DS-3, OC-xWorking knowledge of hardware such as routers, modems, firewalls, Ethernet SwitchKnowledge of communications products, e.g., Voice, Data, Wi-Fi-,IP, VPN, MPLS protocolsBS in Telecommunications, Technology, MIS\/CIS or other related fieldAbility to obtain a security clearanceAlternate Location: US-Virginia-HerndonRequisition #: 102213 This job may require successful completion of an online assessment.
