Northrop Grumman Mission Systems sector is seeking a Technical Editor and Writer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals located in Orlando, Florida. The successful candidate will join the Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) functional team within the Engineering, Sciences and Technology (ES&T) organization. The successful candidate will primarily support the Wideband Satellite programs; part of the Secure Network Operations (SNO) unit. Responsibilities Writes, rewrites and/or edits technical documents such as electronic technical manuals, user manuals, programming manuals, service manuals, operational specifications, and related technical publications to communicate clearly and effectively technical specifications and instructions to a wide range of audiences. Acquires subject knowledge by interviewing product developers, observing performance of production methods, referring to technical specifications, blueprints, engineering illustrations, and trade journals. Oversees preparation of illustrative materials, selecting drawings, sketches, diagrams and charts. Conducts quality review of materials.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

* US Citizenship required with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance

* Bachelor's degree in Technical Writing, English, or a related discipline and 6 years of experience, 4 with a Masters OR a total of 10 years experience in lieu of degree

* Proficient in the use of MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)* Proficient in the use of Adobe FrameMaker

* Possess superior communication, presentation, and writing skills

* Possess the positive attitude and team spirit needed to succeed in a collaborative environment

* Ability to collaborate in a team environment

* Ability to compose materials such as detailed reports, work-related manuals, publications

* Ability to develop and present material outside the immediate work function

* Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to identify and use proper grammar

* Strong interpersonal skills

* Ability to manage several tasks simultaneously

Preferred Qualifications:

* Basic knowledge of HTML

* Basic knowledge of XML

* Experience with Adobe Illustrator
