PSEG has more than 12,000 employees who are dedicated to the communities we serve and embody our vision: People providing Safe, Reliable, Economic and Greener Energy_** Three (3) to eight (8) month co-op/intern position working in the Environmental Affairs Department at the Lawrenceville Electric Southern Headquarters to assist the Environmental Compliance Manager with a Spill response and Management Process Improvement project and Utility compliance staff in Environmental Affairs - Electric Compliance activities at various locations across Electric Operations. The position will support the Environmental Compliance Manager for program process improvements and also potentially for Electric Operations Compliance and the Electric Division's Senior Environmental Specialists with environmental compliance activities throughout the state, in addition to assisting with special projects for process improvements. The position's responsibilities include: Assist the Environmental Affairs Department in preparing and maintaining documentation for environmental compliance including: 1.) Preparation and maintenance of documentation for environmental compliance including, waste manifests, spill reports, chemical analysis and environmental and regulatory reports; 2.) Assist in the development of spreadsheets and databases for the tracking of regulatory and compliance data; 3.) Assist the Environmental Compliance Manager with program management and improvements; 4.) Assist the Senior Environmental Specialists with spill management and daily compliance activities such as inspections,environmental log development and maintenance, and regulatory compliance issues; 5.) Interact with other company departments, contractors and consultants to support environmental projects; 6.) Prepare charts, presentations, process flow diagrams, guidance documents. Candidate should have the desire to work in the environmental field focused on operation's compliance and safety. Required: The applicant must be an Engineering student pursuing a BS degree in Environmental, Civil, Chemical, or Mechanical Engineering; or a BS degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Chemistry, or Geology from an accredited institution. PSE&G recognizes institutions of higher education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent. The Applicant must have good written and oral communication skills, be able to meet deadlines, be well organized, client focused, and demonstrate teamwork. Knowledge of Microsoft applications such as Outlook, Excel, Access, Word and PowerPoint is needed. In addition, the applicant should posses and maintain a valid driver's license, have a safe driving record and personal transportation.
