Job Summary

This is a Technical Service position and requires expeditious, timely and courteous handling of all questions and requests. Attention to details is extremely important in all aspects of the job. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Duties also include administering superior technical support via phone, fax or e-mail to internal and external customers in the areas of product troubleshooting, replacement parts or repair. Senior Tech Support Specialist's have increased knowledge of their products and are responsible for assisting and training other Tech Support Specialist's.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities

Answer technical and various related product phone calls and emails (may be required to be on call during off business hours). Provide technical, installation, wiring and application information. Resolve implied field application and/or product problems pertaining to product installation. Assist sales representatives, store planners, architects, and distributors with lighting applications and specifications. Interact with Product Support and Engineering concerning change notices, bills of material, existing product information, new product development, changing, correcting or interpreting prints, spec sheets,etc.

Assist external customers to identify fixtures and replacement parts, as needed. Also assist customers with competitive crossover's.

Assist Post Sales with replacement parts and troubleshooting.

Responsible for capturing data in proper format as directed. This includes, but is not limited to, specific product or troubleshooting answers into a knowledge base, daily work tracking, statistics and metrics tracking.

Job Requirements

3 to 5 years Technical Support Experience

High School Diploma Required, Associates or Technical Degree Prefered

Required Knowledge:

Computer applications - Oracle, Outlook, Order Management System, etc.

Knowledge of Product Lines.

Understanding the fundamentals of manufacturing.

Ability to use company intranet to obtain technical data necessary to provide superior customer service.

Preferred Knowledge:

Lighting/Electrical knowledge or previous experience in a technical environment is preferred.

Solid state lighting (LED) competencies and lighting controls and/or knowledge of dimming systems (DMX, DALI, 0-10V, etc.) is a plus
