As the Product Manager for our growing Tax Services team, you will drive new product development that delivers unrivaled benefit and value to our customers. The focus is on development and creation of leading tax reporting solutions for the financial services industry, including data management, client reporting and specialized data management applications. This is accomplished by defining the requirements that drive IT development, by building or updating and then running Proof of Concept (POC) programs to verify the accuracy and completeness of IT-developed processes.

Job Responsibilities:

Broadridge is looking for a strong self-starter with a basic understanding of information reporting and brokerage processing, coupled with a strong background in data processing encompassing the full project life cycle, and the skills needed to relate information reporting requirements to the brokerage processes.

You will be responsible for the definition and documentation of requirements relating to assigned Tax Service products and services with adherence to documentation rules and formats. Define acceptance criteria including detailed balancing and checkout procedures to be applied during the testing phase to ensure that requirements were accurately and completely adhered to in the development phase.

Ensure that requirements are defined so as to result in fully and accurately functioning systems and products that adhere to all IRS reporting rules and client requirements based on user-friendly functionality that meets or exceeds client expectations.

You will provide the accurate and complete development and execution of assigned POC projects by using COBOL to code processes and JCL to run processes, and by applying acceptance criteria to fully test processes. Use file transmissions to deliver files as needed. Use Microsoft Excel, Access and/or other database facilities to transform process results as needed.

Contribute ideas, insight and expertise to projects and initiatives related to assigned systems, products and services and participate in strategy and brainstorming sessions that enable other Team members to meet their objectives.

You'll stay abreast of the latest congressional enactments, treasury regulations and IRS revenue rulings, and work with clients, vendors and industry groups to define service solutions in relation to assigned products and services.

Prepare workflows, business process presentations and client communications, perform gap analyses, craft / execute test scripts, prepare training materials, conduct training sessions and write conversion data mapping documents, as needed.

You will partner with technology, operations, client services, QA and product integrity Teams to successfully fulfill business requirements that meet or exceed Broadridge and client objectives.

Provide timely reports of deliverables and challenges to ensure project progress and risk are understood by management of multiple levels.

You will work with internal programmers, client technology staff, and client operational experts to implement workflow modifications and perform quality assurance testing affecting the overall Broadridge solution.

Participate in creation of and adherence to project plans and maintain assigned Remedy events to successful resolution.

Preferred qualifications

10 years' experience in data processing. Tax reporting and brokerage industry experience is a plus;

5 years' experience in COBOL programming and JCL writing, unit testing and final handoffs.

2 Product Management / Business Analyst experience;

BA/BS in Finance or Accounting preferred- or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

Skills/ competencies

Strong analytical and problem solving skills, with the ability to analyze situations and issues and develop and implement sound solutions;

Strong COBOL and JCL writing, execution and debugging skills;

Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills;

Familiarity with brokerage industry processes;

Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive issues with tact and integrity;

Ability to effectively communicate with managers and peers, clearly expressing ideas and concepts both verbally and in writing to address issues and facilitate interactions;

Participate in fostering a positive Team environment that gives way to collaboration and unified goals;

Ability to handle multiple job duties in a dynamic environment; under tight time frames

Foster company success through a professional appearance, being courteous to customers and all associates and by having a positive attitude.

Intermediate to advanced level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Requirements

Flexibility to work weekends/extended hours, especially during Tax season, when required;

Ability to travel 5% required, approximately 10-15 days per year.

Ability to work in our Deer Park, NY location as primary location and in the Newark, NJ location as needed.
