Tax Accountant - Sales, Use & Property Tax @ American Railcar Industries Corporate Office - St. Charles, MO - Accounting

Prepare monthly Sales and Use tax returns & account reconciliations for all plant locations

Work with plant controllers on taxability of items

Maintain database of customer exemption certificates perform periodic update procedures

Assist manager with any S&U / Property tax audits

Assist with new state registrations

Perform research on various tax issues to determine proper tax reporting.

Assist in department with ad hoc reporting from SAP ERP system

Prepare property tax renditions for all plant property and rolling stock property

Coordinate all payments for property taxes in all states

Coordinate with assessors on assessment reviews if necessary

Assist when needed in other tax issues

Required Skills & Qualifications

Strong organization skills and pays attention to detail

Ability to work accurately under tight deadlines

Highly proficient in Excel; knowledgeable in Word / PowerPoint/ Outlook

SAP ERP system experience preferred

Good communication skills (written and oral)

Team player

Required Experience/Education/Training/Certifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

1-2 years experience

Familiarization with Public company reporting a plus.

Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet tight deadlines.

Licenses/Certifications/Etc.

CPA a plus but not required.

Work Environment & Safety Equipment Required

Office environment

Periodical light manufacturing environment

Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE)

Ability to travel to manufacturing facilities
