The Telephone Operator provides a welcoming and positive first impression of Atrium Medical Center by processing incoming, outgoing, networked and interoffice calls regarding hospital services, patient information, and provides emergency notification information. Processes pages via computer, audio and radio. Processes calls and pages for the Dr.’s Answering Service. ','!*!Education: High School Diploma or equivalentLicensure: N.A.Certification: N.A.Experience: Previous telephone operator experience preferred or experiences dealing with a high volume of telephone calls. Skills/Other: Good written and oral communications. Good understanding of computer. Must be able to type 35 words per minute. Able to work closely with other employees in a small office setting. Must be able to sit for long periods of time with limited mobility. Proven customer service skills and excellent problem solving skills required. Excellent voice modulation and grammar required. Must be flexible and able to work under stressful conditions and demonstrate good organizational skills and the ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously. Must have good verbal and non-verbal communications skills. Must be mature enough o deal with a broad range of people from a variation of socio-economic backgrounds.
