Description

POSITION SUMMARY

The Product, Marketing and Brokerage technology team of MassMutual’s Financial Alliance (MMFA) seeks a System’s Analysis Director. This person will direct, manage, plan and administer the operational and administrative activities associated with the running of the Systems Analysis, Systems Analysis Programming and/or Application Programming organizations. May lead one or multiple work cells to deliver business outcomes (strategic, operational and BAU), with accountability for both the delivery and functioning of the work cells. Develop technology and project objectives for a department or functional area; participates as member of the management team that develops strategies for the larger organization. Contribute to the development of financial and resource planning needed to achieve department business objectives. Manage available resources at the single or multi- departmental level. Mentor and/or direct less experienced managers. Coordinate technical studies and evaluations of business area needs and technological alternatives with other systems management and business area managers. Select, manage, develop, coach, and motivate staff members. Coordinate planning, implementation and documentation activities with client area (s.), staff, and other technical management. Consult with client management in the analysis of short and long-range business requirements and recommends innovations that anticipate the future impact of changing business requirements.

The candidate will be responsible for soliciting and documenting business requirements, understanding of technical dependencies, and helping to envision creative solutions to both business and technical challenges. Candidate must be team-oriented and possess excellent written, verbal, and communication skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES

•Manages a team/unit performing highly specialized functions, or oversees the daily operation of teams/units with highly seasoned exempt and possibly some non-exempt employees, which involve multiple service requirements

•Has latitude in decision making affecting operations of Company

•Establishes, directs and implements medium range work plans or goals for specific work groups managed

•May oversee other Mgrs.

•Individual typically has 5 years related work experience and 3 years of management experience and may have significantly more

•Participates as member of the organization’s management team contributing to the development of strategies and business goals

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

•At least 5 years’ of related work experience

•Experience with developing objectives and leading others

•Ability to work in a collaborative environment and can work on multiple different assignments at once

•Ability to own and drive system analysis of concurrent initiatives

•Bachelor degree required

•Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

•5 years’ of either systems or leadership experience preferred

•Experience with financial services products

•Understanding of Business Process Outsourcing arrangements

•Perform strategic planning for large scale projects

•Experience with workload balancing

•Ability to mentor others

•Highly organized and collaborative

•Master degree preferred
