TIER SUPPORT ENGINEER

We have immediate openings for a 2 nd Tier Support Engineer. This position works in the Customer Care Department and is responsible for strategic support of all Protedyne products, providing high-level technical expertise to On-Site Engineers and customers. This position will perform analysis to identify and resolve problems, act as liaison between field personnel and the factory, and will occasionally go into the field for especially difficult support situations. May also be required to provide operator training and field upgrades as required. Candidate must be flexible to travel at a moment's notice to perform repair services.

Responsibilities:

Analyze complex information to proactively identify and resolve problems on a daily basis.

Perform comparisons of equipment performance across multiple locations to determine best-in-class

standards, as well as developing and executing plans to achieve these standards.

Act as a liaison between field and factory personnel to communicate problems and drive them to

closure.

Manage multiple problems concurrently to ensure proper resolution.

Ensure that preventive and routine maintenance is performed to Protedyne standards and schedules.

Manage spare part activity at remote locations to eliminate stock-out situations.

Provide remote technical support via telephone, WebEx and e-mail to both OSE's and lab personnel.

Provide on-call support on a rotating basis for laboratories during nights, weekends and holidays.

Support factory test or automation equipment and perform Factory Acceptance tests as required.

Install automation equipment at customer sites and conduct Site Acceptance Tests.

Develop and publish SOP's to support field activities including preventive maintenance and repair and

replace activities.

Provides high level of customer support in a fast-paced and challenging work environment.

Continuously improves knowledge and skills to increase proficiency on equipment.

Routinely completes administrative paperwork, such as but not limited to: Time Reports, Expense

Reports, Inventory Reports, Equipment Checklists, Field Service Reports.

May require weekend and/or after hours work.

Perform other assigned duties as required.
