Duties for this position would include:\r\rSUMMARY: The Supply Planner will utilize forecast data to execute the inventory strategy in assigned categories to manage inventory flow and achieve Division goals. Work with internal and external partners to provide optimum inventory. Collaborate with the\r Buyer, Demand Planner, and vendors to achieve promotional plans and improve supply chain performance.\r\rRebuying (Store Planner only)\r• Perform re-buying/stock replenishment to maintain optimal inventory for all sales channels\r• Manage inbound inventory flow in collaboration with the vendor allocation, distribution center capacity, Buyer and Demand Planner\r• Understand and act on constraints and exceptions in the supply planning cycle \r• Implements inventory strategy to achieve open-to-buy goals, optimal service levels, best cost of goods to include vendor rebates/discounts\r• Collaborates with the buyer and demand planner to balance supply and demand (Sales & Operations Planning)\r\r• Understanding of product lines and floor displays and their impact on supply and demand\r\rResponsible for managing direct ship processes of e-commerce site (Web Planner only)\r• Manage new product spreadsheets, including, but not limited to, collecting, evaluating, and editing new product worksheets from vendors.\r\r• Communicate new sku editions with content company.\r• Monitor new sku content sent back from content company. Fix issues on skus where content cannot be made.\r• Analyze current product selection and select new goods to support expansion of existing categories and creating new categories on the website.\r• Vendor rep negotiations and communication (i.e., maintain and update product on website, vendor programs). Answer questions about SKU set-up process and using VCMS.\r• Ensure vendor compliance with NFM requirements.\r• Record vendor programs in Vendor Receivables Program to support billing and collecting of funds.\r• Create, maintain and update vendor data base information.\r• Competitive merchandising leadership, price shop against key competitors.\r• Analyze and report on each vendor’s upkeep of their product to Internet Merchandising Manager.\r• Assist Internet Merchandising Manager when communicating with IT in improving software changes to POPS and VCMS.\r\rPromotions\r• Oversees timely merchandise flow to ensure promotional plans are achieved\r• Collaborate with the Buyer and Demand Planner for promotional SKU selection\r• Incorporate vendor rebates/plans/MAP policies into NFM promotional plan \r• Meet requirements related to marketing deadlines and ad in-stock\r\rInventory Management\r• Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies associated with pricing and quantities.\r• Source products from alternate locations to meet demand\r• Manage inventory levels to designated life cycle plans\r• Manage NAS, aged, and over stocked inventory\r\rVendor Collaboration\r• Manage and tune supply chain attributes to support the flow of goods\r• Benchmark vendor key performance indicators to plan\r• Execute vendor program agreements into the re-buy plan\r\r\rFor benefits details, please see\r\rApplicable pre-employment testing required.\r\rEEO Employer

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: \r• Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, Management or related area strongly preferred\r• 1-2 years’ re-buying experience and/or inventory analysis \r• Experience with retail buying, marketing, or supply chain preferred

Company Profile:
Nebraska Furniture Mart, a Berkshire Hathaway Company, is the largest home furnishing store in North America selling furniture, flooring, appliances and electronics. NFM was founded in 1937 by Mrs. B (Rose Blumkin) in Omaha, Nebraska. In 1983, Mrs. B sold a majority interest to Berkshire Hathaway. NFM now has three stores, located in Omaha, Nebraska, Kansas City, Kansas, and Des Moines, Iowa. A fourth store is expected to open in The Colony, TX in the spring of 2015. Born outside of Minsk, Russia, in 1893, Rose Gorelick followed her husband, Isadore Blumkin to America in 1917 to take on the American dream. By 1922, the young couple had scraped together enough money to have her family flee Russia and join them in America.
