The Supply Chain Leader is responsible for identifying, developing, and implementing long term companywide project strategies for the supply of materials and services for Generation and Renewables projects. Responsibilities also include monitoring supplier performance and establishing corrective measures with suppliers. An important aspect of this role is seeking maximum value for the company to achieve schedule and cost certainty.
Achieve Entergy’s annual cost savings goals in support of Entergy’s financial performance objectives. Develop project profiles, sourcing processes, business cases and implementation plans to maximize opportunities of overall cost reduction and increased supplier performance across projects. Create and model Total Cost of Ownership for categories and sourcing decisions. Leverage purchasing power of aggregated spend, resulting in maximized price, contractual terms and vendor service levels.
Lead negotiations and contract development for projects and other complex companywide agreements. Lead/participate in Continuous Process Improvement teams to improve all aspects of the supply chain process and ensure effective implementation of those improvements. Model market conditions to estimate costs in support of project budget development.
Provide Supply Chain oversight and leadership to assigned Business Unit project teams to ensure solicitation, placement and implementation of project contracts are robust and in accordance with Entergy’s Procurement Policy and project methodologies.
Assist and direct tactical groups in negotiating terms and conditions, claims and dispute resolution. Act as a Subject Matter Expert(SME) in project market conditions, sourcing strategies, supplier performance management and outsourced project activity.
Evaluate rates, incentives, and cost structures of contracts to ensure consistency with market conditions. Monitor and resolve contract claims. Advise the Project Manager on requirements of the contract. Monitor Contractors to maximize performance and ensure correction of declining trends.
Maintain awareness of project schedules and commitments (i.e., Milestones) to provide support to meet project schedules. Report out on project status, risks and issues. Develop and maintain risk assessment and mitigation plans.
Support the emergency response organization.
Minimum education required of the position:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Finance, a technical discipline or a relevant field is required. MBA degree is a plus.
Minimum experience required of the position:
5 or more years Contracting Experience (development and implementation of project contracts, EPC contracts, service and material contracts, outsource contracts).
Desired: 5 or more years of experience contracting for a power generation facility.
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position:
Knowledge of all phases of contracting (including Bid, Evaluation, Award, Negotiation, Contract Development, Performance Monitoring, Claims, Dispute Resolution). Analytical techniques to identify cost savings/sourcing opportunities. Knowledge of assigned project scopes. Knowledge of power plant/utility operations and business practices. Knowledge of legal/regulatory requirements. Ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization. Must have experience with and the potential to lead large complex work teams and projects across business units. Ability to develop and present business cases for complex, high dollar procurements. Excellent oral, written, problem solving, and facilitating skills. Proficiency in basic Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Outlook). Desired: Knowledge of Process Improvement Techniques; Analytical Modeling Experience; Demonstrated Negotiating Skills; Experience with Enterprise contracting/procurement system. Other Requirements: Some overnight Travel; Emergency Coverage Rotation; Unscheduled emergency support.
