Job Description:

Briggs & Stratton offers an exciting internship in Supply Chain. Our interns are involved in strategic projects and have the opportunity to learn from experienced professionals in a fast-paced, high-performance environment. As an intern in Supply Chain, you’ll develop or enhance your skills in areas such as:

Project Management – Leading various projects across internal departments and levels of the organization

Critical Thinking & Analysis – Learn to synthesize quantitative and qualitative data to develop solutions to current

Relationship Management– Learn how to more effectively interact with various levels of a large corporation. You’ll get to know many different people in a wide variety of roles and backgrounds.

Job Responsibilities:

Provide leadership on assigned projects with mentoring to develop proficiency using established methods, practices, and concepts for the purchasing department, including but not limited to the following functions: US Imports, US Exports, North American Domestic, Global Trade Compliance, Warehousing/Distribution

Projects could include the following areas of logistics and supply chain: Domestic Transportation, Ocean Transportation, 3


Party warehousing & consolidation, Inventory Optimization, A/P, Accounting, etc.

Assist with process and SOP documentation

Data mining and report generation

Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required

Job Skill Requirements:

Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders

Must be capable of managing and manipulating large amounts of data

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and Access

Strong organizational and problem-solving skills

Ability to work with a team of diverse individuals in a variety of fields.

Education/Experience Requirements:

Must be enrolled as a full-time student in an accredited college or working toward a Bachelor’s degree with a preference for Logistics/Supply Chain/Transportation focus

Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0

This is an entry level position therefore previous experience is helpful but not required.
