The Supervisor - Supplier Quality is responsible for the implementation of strategies for the qualification of parts, suppliers and other initiatives as they pertain to a business unit. The Supervisor - Supplier Quality oversees Supplier Quality activities including the evaluation, qualification, inspection and disposition of products received from suppliers. Individual may lead, train, and mentor lower level Engineers. Responsible for the management and execution of the site Supplier Quality Engineering and Receiving Inspection staff.
Identification, assessment and qualification of new and existing suppliers including on-site initial audits
Monitoring and drive improvement of site Supplier Quality and Supplier Performance Metrics
Initiation and execution of Supplier Development activities
Manage Supplier Quality and Receiving Inspection personnel
Manage SCAR/FA and continuous improvement systems
Follows processes and operational policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions
Develops and administers schedules and performance requirements
Works on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current business trends
Provides guidance to subordinates within the latitude of established company policies
Generally manages employees and/or supervisors; coordinates the activities of a section/department with responsibility for results, methods and staffing
Interaction normally requires the ability to gain cooperation of others, conducting presentations of technical information concerning specific projects or schedules
Supplier Quality contact for perspective customers and external auditors
Support the management of supplier related NCM material
Ongoing assessment and improvement of the Plexus Supplier Quality processes
Supervise the support of problem identification in manufacturing and issues effecting component quality.
Manage department training requirements
Support the coordination and implementation of best practices between all SQE groups
Manage site Receiving Inspection processes and equipment needs
Support selection of alternate suppliers and the customer approval
Occasional travel may be required to meet the needs of the business (estimated 0-25%)

Skills & Abilities
Advanced Industry/Manufacturing Knowledge
Advanced decision making and problem solving skills
Intermediate computer skills including the Microsoft Office Suite
Intermediate data analysis and presentation skills
Education & Experience
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required for this position; A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Quality or a similar field is preferred
Experience of 5 years is required for this position, assuming education requirements are met. Equivalent industry experience of 8 or more years is highly desirable
