Supervisor Inventory Control & PurchasingGreif Inc.
Accountable for direct material cost performance through optimization of Plant Inventory. Supervise and Coordinate all Purchasing, Inventory Control, and Inventory Reconciliation activities (eg. Raw materials, sub-assemblies, and finished goods). Conduct required cycle counting in accordance with the Rigid Industrial Packaging & Services Inventory Counting Procedures. Conduct statistical analysis of inventory levels as it pertains to production and sales requirements. Initiates and manages system transactions to maintain accurate inventory records.
Performs administrative duties, which may include purchasing, receiving, invoicing, timekeeping, accounts payable, general ledger entry, and reconciliations.
Administers the purchase of all direct and indirect materials for production, warehousing and general office supplies.
Develop/ Optimize policies and procedures to ensure inventory accuracy for both direct and indirect materials.
Generates reports and analysis to optimize inventory and promote productivity improvements through cost reductions.
Will schedule inbound deliveries of raw materials.
Will engage in creating a safe work environment by incorporating safety observations, safety leadership, and safety meeting participation to promote good daily safety practices and habits.
May interact with external/internal customers, sales team, vendors and other personnel daily.
Communicate goals and objectives, uphold company policy, and participate in staffing, training, and coaching.
Work directly with Centralized Inventory Planning Team (remotely) to optimize local inventory.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Associates Degree in Accounting, Supply Chain, or Business Finance.
Bachelor’s Degree Preferred
1 to 3 years direct experience in an inventory control/purchasing/buyer role.
APICS CPIM preferred
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
Must have experience with Materials Resource Planning/ Enterprise Resource Planning Systems (eg. SAP, Infor).
Knowledge of warehousing/ shipping and receiving/ production systems.
Basic to advanced knowledge of lean principles.
Must also have the ability to work collaboratively with others as part of a team.
