Description

Job Summary

Program Superintendent is accountable for the successful execution and commissioning of large scale distribution infrastructure improvement programs and various special and/or complex high profile/high value projects. The Program Superintendent ensures success of the program by managing all aspects of the process from design to close out.

The Program Superintendent identifies and implements the necessary measures that ensure both internal resources (engineering, land rights, project controls, shared services , project coordinators etc…) and external resources(pipeline contractors, engineering firms, sewer inspections, project prep team, leak survey etc… ) produce their respective deliverables to meet the company’s objectives (budget, schedule, and quality). These objectives may include development of programs, regulatory approval of programs, commissioning of assets, returning investment, meeting program regulatory and government commitments and reporting, etc.

Programs may include FCG SAFE (margin producing) and Sewer Locating Program (specialty safety).

Functional Expertise:

• Serves as lead on large scale distribution infrastructure improvement programs

• Implements measures to ensure all projects are executed to meet AGL Quality Standards

• Ensures Functional Leader and their respective tracks leads are fully engaged with deliverables

Business Acumen:

• Ensure that projects are managed to budget, schedule, design, and standards

• Ensure requirements/standards for Project reporting are followed

• Define project scope and base line it

• Assures contractor compliance with company policies & procedures

• Oversee pipeline contractor progress & compliance

• Participate in bid/award strategy/process

• Participate in contract negotiations

• Ensure proper execution of contract

• Ensure that contractors invoices and payments are processed in a timely manner

Engagement:

• Identify and contract qualified contractors for project work through functional leader

• Ensure proper data capture and recording for project metrics

• Provide program metrics for detailed reporting to upper management

• Ensure that scope changes are appropriately addressed per the Change Management process (e.g. adequately documented, impact analysis, approved, etc.)

• Hold contractor meetings on a regular basis (progress & plan)

• Ensures proper communications with regulatory agencies and communities

• Achieves program milestones to meet regulatory requirements

• Achieves financial goals

• Continually seeks and implements needed process improvements

• Ensures proper creation of project assets

• Ensures proper project close out

Qualifications

Education, Certifications/Licenses:

• Required: High School Education

• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree (engineering, project management, or construction management preferred), PE, PMP

Related Work Experience:

Required:

7 years engineering, construction, and/or operations experience in gas distribution or related energy field

Previous management experience

or

Equivalent academic education and experience

• Preferred: Transmission Line installation experience

Or equivalent education and experience
