Georgia-Pacific is currently looking for a Structural Designer

for our National Accounts team to be located in Atlanta GA. Structural Designers must be self-driven, demonstrate innovative point of purchase design, and be highly creative while effectively managing multiple deliverables with constantly changing priorities. Structural Designers work closely with the Creative Design team to bring creative concepts to life. A Day In The Life Typically Includes:

Brainstorming and participating in ideation sessions, discussing and

clearly articulating ideas, verbally or visually

Generating multiple display or packaging concepts and quickly communicate them via sketch or CAD layout

Collaborating with the Creative Team on National display programs

Coordinating the development and approval of all project specific design documents such as BOMs, calculations, drawings, specifications, equipment and instrument lists

Specifying proper substrates and fasteners for a particular program

Provide information for the preparation of detail drawings

Manage changes per Customer, Sales, Team Lead or Creative Director

Interfacing with Sales, Customer Service, Production and Clients as required

Working proactively with supply chain and manufacturing teams to apply Design for Manufacturability methodology

Referring to machine limitations and applying to designs for optimum run-ability through manufacturing

Applying extraordinary attention to detail, organizational and time management skills

What You Will Need:

Basic Qualifications:

At least 5 years of experience in structural design for temporary and semi-permanent Point-Of-Purchase display

Experience with multiple mixed materials including corrugated, SBS, plastics, foam core, and vac-form

Experience with Artios CAD

Experience with TOPS or Cape palletization software

Experience with Adobe Illustrator

Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

Must be able to work in a PC environment

Knowledge of manufacturing processes

Knowledge of major retailers in the Grocery, Specialty, Drug, Mass, Convenience, and Club channels

Must be able to travel between Georgia-Pacific headquarters in Atlanta GA and the Innovation Institute® located in Norcross GA

What Will Put You Ahead?

Preferred Qualifications:

Associates Degree or higher

Experience with various plus-ups materials including lights and motors

Experience with graphics and rendering; Photoshop, advanced Illustrator and 3DS Max

Portfolio of display and packaging examples
