Job Summary: 

This role is responsible for the general accounting and reporting for the corporate shared service division.  This includes posting of general ledger transactions, preparation and review of account reconciliations and participation in the month-end closing process.  This position is responsible for maintaining and administering the general ledger for both domestic and international locations. In addition, there will be responsibility for the coordination and reconciliation of intercompany charges between the various Valmont locations.  This role is also responsible for assisting with the preparation of the annual operating plan (AOP) for various Valmont locations.

Essential Functions/Duties:

Review warranty calculations for accuracy and completeness

Review of purchase parts costing

Responsible for monthly reconciliation of multiple bank accounts in various currencies

Complete month-end balance sheet reconciliations and related activities

Complete and file various types of tax returns on behalf of Valmont sites

Prepare intercompany reconciliations for multiple sites

Month-end review and analysis of income statement results

Record journal entries on the general ledger for multiple sites

Work with multiple sites utilizing different ERP systems

Assist both Internal and External Audit with compliance and regulatory investigations

Maintain accuracy and timeliness of transaction reports

Complete recurring and ad-hoc work for various Controllers throughout North America

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s  or Associate’s degree

Two years relevant accounting experience

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, Access and PowerPoint

Minimum Qualifications:

Ability to pay attention to detail and follow instructions 

Ability to effectively analyze data

Very strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills

Excellent time management and organizational skills

Ability to work independently and under high pressure

Experience in a wide range of business tasks, perhaps at a small/mid-size business

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s Degree

Degree in Business, Finance or Accounting

Working knowledge of accounting software:  IFS, QAD, or Sage 100

Certified Public Accountant

Certified Internal Auditor license
