SCOPE OF POSITION:

Work collaboratively in support of business analytics team primary as relates to Business performance, Trade investment and pricing strategies. This information will be used extensively by HQ sales / Field sales and marketing organizations. Knowledge of Syndicated data, trade Investment and general business acumen are critical to succeed in this role.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESinclude the following, other duties may be assigned.

Deliver analytic insights to support the Trade investment against annual team’s goals and objectives. These will have focus against customer based trade investments that drive both Retailer and pinnacle sales through driving greater trade spending efficiency

Takes ownership of selected customers in our trade optimization initiatives. This will entail utilizing existing tools and processes in close coordination with the business planners to evaluate sales and spending across our promoted product group’s at assigned customers

Support Headquarter Sales & Field Customer teams with continuous assessment of category and Pinnacle performance. This will have focus against Customer-level performance to identify risk and opportunities to growth and/or market share

Support cross-functional teams with analysis of business issues and develops recommendations to address. This will have a focus against pricing and customer investment.

Working with analytics team continues to evolve the trade optimization process established at Pinnacle. This will include model support and improvements, data integration as well reporting.

Collaborate and build relationships with cross-functional groups to help educate and influence behaviors as relates to trade investment optimization

With guidance from manager, define business issue & develop volume and profit implications with appropriate analytic information plan. Focus on pricing (price points, gaps) and trade by customer by brand.

Strengthen ability to effectively and appropriately communicate to peers, clients, and management while developing written and oral presentation skills.

Support senior managers’ efforts to lead business situation assessment fundamentals within the BU and customers on an on-going basis inclusive of ad hoc analytics and presentation development. (e.g., selling stories)

Qualifications

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

2 - 3 years’ experience in Consumer Packaged goods industry with demonstrated ability with consumption based analytics and/or trade investment

Consumer packaged goods background with demonstrated ability to assume higher levels of responsibility

Strong analytic mindset, detail orientation and problem solving skills are necessary

Adaptable to changing environment and ability to manage multiple priorities

Strong background with syndicated Data and Excel. Trade Planning software and financial knowledge (e.g. P/L) a plus

Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills

Driven for results with ability to work (at times) independently

Adaptable to changing circumstances (team orientation to be flexible to efficiently address changing priorities)

Building future skills (especially communication; business savvy; influencing) within team environment

Proficiency in the use of MS Office software including Excel, Word and PowerPoint

Preferred knowledge of industry tools such as IRI/Nielsen; Spectra; NPD; Trade planning software

Consumer/Shopper insights experience/knowledge base a plus

Financial knowledge (e.g., P&L) a plus

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s Degree required; MBA is preferred
