We're looking for an outstanding Senior Systems Engineer who combines superb technical, research and analytical capabilities with a demonstrated ability to get the right things done quickly and effectively. This person must be comfortable working with a team of top-notch developers and collaborating with our research teams. We\u2019re looking for people who innovate and love solving hard problems! You will work hard, have fun, and of course, make history! This position requires a candidate that can operate independently in an ambiguous environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background in multiple engineering disciplines. He/she will interface closely with a tight-knit team of system engineers across a broad range of technical areas to drive the rigorous development, integration and test of the system. He/she will be required to articulate and derive technical requirements and simplify and build consensus around proposed solutions, The ideal candidate will have a balance of breadth across engineering disciplines, depth and expertise in select areas, and practical real-life experience with verification of complex systems and implementation of simulation environments. Export Control License This position may require a deemed export control license for compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Placement is contingent on Amazon\u2019s ability to apply for and obtain an export control license on your behalf.
Basic Qualifications· Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Aerospace, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field· 6 years of relevant work experience · Strong technical skills in one or more of the following engineering disciplines: flight dynamics, robotics, software, avionics, electrical systems· Experience as a systems engineer or systems architect on an aerospace or related project· Experience designing complex systems, hardware/software integration, and RF communications systems· Experience with FMEA/FMECA, FMET, FTA and reliability analyses· Strong Mathematical/Statistical fundamentals · Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to explain complex concepts and designs to colleagues across disciplines
Preferred Qualifications· Master\u2019s or PhD in Aerospace, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or related field· 10 years of relevant work experience · Experience in system engineering on Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) or similar robotics platforms, including system architecture design, system level analysis, system integration, and the ability to develop system level test plans · Experience as a technical lead and ability to mentor and guide junior engineers· Experience developing complex, flight-critical systems that have been successfully delivered· Experience interfacing/partnering with a multidisciplinary engineering team· Experience communicating with end users, management, technical and business teams to collect requirements, describe product features and refine technical designsAmazon is an Equal Opportunity-Affirmative Action Employer \u2013 Minority / Female / Disability / Veteran / Gender Identity / Sexual Orientation
