The Sr. Systems Engineer - Cisco Voice/Network provides engineering, delivery, operational transition and level 3 operational support of Cisco voice and networking technologies that enable PetSmart's business strategies. The role will be accountable for partnering and working with cross functional teams to implement and deliver solutions aligned with strategies and plan for the technology, people and processes for in-store, corporate and direct-to-consumer environments.

The Sr. Systems Engineer - Cisco Voice/Network, will possess a high level of proficiency and expertise in technical disciplines that may include, but are not limited to, Cisco CallManager, CallManager Express, Unity Connection, Unified Contact Center Express (UCCX), Unified Contact Center Enterprise (UCCE), Emergency Responder (CER), route/switch, firewall, load balancing, AWS and/or Azure cloud, and monitoring/alerting technologies.

Supervisory Responsibilities:


Essential Functions:

Responsible for designing, deploying, installing and configuring complex Cisco IPT solutions in North American (including Canada) corporate offices, distribution centers (7) and stores (1,600)

Application design efforts within UCCX to support Enterprise Contact Center environments

Network support as it relates to the Cisco VOIP environment and isolate and resolve complex problems utilizing appropriate diagnostic tools.

Provide mentoring, training, and support to other Voice Engineers as needed.

Perform application design updates across all components of the system.

Work and collaborate with Project Teams including Operations, contract resources and 3rd Party Vendors.

Provide consistent and frequent project status updates.

Global Change Management Processes.

Ensures compliance with data security policies and procedures.

Installs and tests product and operating systems upgrades

Travel Required:

5%-10% (dependent on project load)

Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Required knowledge normally obtained through a bachelor’s degree

Experience: BA/BS degree in Computer Science, or Computer Information Systems, or minimum 10 years work experience designing/implementing/troubleshooting/maintaining networking technologies.

Knowledge and Skills: Experience working with Cisco Unified Call Manager, CallManager Express and Cisco Unity Connection voice mail.

Experience with SIP, H323 and MGCP voice signaling protocol configuration.

Experience of migrating from TDM to SIP trunking required.

Strong experience configuring and troubleshooting Voice Service Gateways (ISR Routers, Analog gateways, CUBE, CUSP, VXML, Cisco SRST).

Experience of Centralized Enterprise Dial Plan Design – Dialing Habits \\ Class Of Service \\ Partitioning \\ On-Net & Off-Net. SME knowledge a plus.

Experience of Cisco CUCM CDR including CLI SQL Queries.

Hands-On multisite contact center systems integration experience with ACD and IVR with Cisco UCCX/UCCE preferred

Cisco IPT integration experience with Microsoft Active Directory in an Enterprise environment.

Experience working with Cisco and Microsoft Collaboration Services - Video Conferencing solutions

Experience using monitoring tools including Splunk, Solarwinds and Zabbix

Experience working with WAN (MPLS/VRF), Routing Protocols BGP, EIGRP, Wi-Fi, DHCP/DNS.

Proven experience with QoS on both WAN and LAN to ensure quality voice.

Experience initiating and delivering large scale, large budget network projects including developing/ writing architectural and equipment standards, standards, process in transitioning engineering projects to Network Operations.

Experience working with geographically dispersed cross functional teams to communicate, present and interface with Business units at Executive level.

Technical infrastructure design, implementation and management of enterprise and retail networking infrastructure and system technologies (primarily Cisco) a plus

Well developed understanding of application interactions and troubleshooting skills; the ability to reason and think in a linear, logical progression.

Experience supporting regulatory mandates, including PCI and SOX.

Excellent project management and documentation (both written and visual) skills.

Ability to make sound judgments, prioritize and execute tasks.

Strong inter-personal skills: ability to communicate with customers, vendors, partners and business managers across various levels of the organization.

Able to communicate difficult technical concepts clearly to a variety of individuals of varying technical expertise and understanding in a clear and concise manner.

Must be proactive, highly organized and capable of self-directed work while requiring minimal day-to-day guidance and direction.

Certificates/Licenses/Registrations: Cisco CCIE or CCNP Voice preferred

Preferred Requirements: Strong knowledge of retail and device technologies that support store and distribution center operations.

Knowledge of industry standards and frameworks (ITIL, ISO, COBIT).
