Position requires the management of subcontracts from inquiry through award, execution, and closeout pursuant to established procedures. These duties include:
Establish proposed bidders list for all subcontracts, including pre qualification of bidders.
Issue inquiry packages in accordance with execution schedule.
Work with Engineering regarding the technical content of each inquiry and Subcontract.
Evaluate bids/proposals and prepare the award recommendation documentation.
Develops and distribute 'Conformed Subcontracts' following award.
Negotiate change orders and other commercial oriented matters through closeout.
Maintains proper files on all pre-award and post award documentation.
Responsible for auditing and processing subcontract invoices for payment, maintaining subcontract logs and issuing weekly and monthly department and project reporting.
Work closely directly with Construction to oversee activities of multiple Subcontracts.
Strong computer skills in Microsoft Word and Excel. System proficiency (Prolog) a plus.
Examine and prepare general business and commercial transaction documents.
Understand contractual obligations, identify potential risks, communicate key terms and conditions, and assist project teams with compliance.
Coordinate prime contract amendments and work releases.
Develop prime contract flow downs for subcontracts and purchase orders.
Oversee integration and resolution of contractual issues impacting the prime contract, purchase orders and subcontracts.
Manage negotiation of Purchase Order and Subcontract terms and conditions.
Educate, train, and advise project team members on the content, administration and interpretation of the prime contract.
Provide input and guidance to the project team to ensure that all prime contract-related commercial issues are identified timely, documented, addressed and resolved.
Coordinate prime contract, subcontract and purchase order claim management with Project Management, Project Controls and Legal.
Experience with EPC prime contract, subcontract and purchase order development, negotiation and administration
Knowledge of claims, construction law, and contracting principles
10 years expreience, BA or BS or equivalent experience in related field
Willingness to work long term assignment in continental US.
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with ability to explain complex issues in lay terms.
Excellent decision making skills which are critical in resolving conflict or infringements that arise from existing contracts in the business unit.
Excellent negotiation and analytical skills.
Works independently with minimal guidance.
Comfortable interfacing with operational and client management.
Detail oriented with strong organizational skills to prioritize and manage multiple time-sensitive initiatives simultaneously.
Must demonstrate client-focused approach to business activities within companies risk profile.
