Role Summary:

The Sr Staff Solution Architect demonstrates smallworld based communications software products and technology vision to potential and existing customers, and provides in-depth knowledge of the Smallworld Communications product line in a solution-based approach to the Sales process. This includes showing leadership in communicating business goals, programs, and processes for the Communications and Utility industry for both North and South America.

Essential Responsibilities:

As the Lead Sales Specialist - Digital Solution Architecture, you will:

Solve problems, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and have the ability to effect short-term and long-term business goals

Communicate Smallworld product and technology vision to potential and existing customers

Demonstrate in-depth knowledge of the Smallworld product line in a solution-based approach

Articulate the advantages of the Smallworld product architecture to both business-oriented and IT audiences

Assist in the preparation of competitive benchmarks

Work as part of the Sales team to develop and execute sales strategies relevant to market opportunities

Communicate individual customer requirements for Sales Manager in regards to design and quotation

Gather industry intelligence to inform business decision-making

Communicate requirements for order fulfillment to sourcing and operations

Direct customer management through clear communication, internally and externally

Review and influence customer specifications to assure compliance and/or noted exceptions for development of quotations

Make technical presentations to all levels of customer organization

Build and maintain demonstration systems for a variety of customer focused solutions for different types of Telecoms and Utilities

Contribute positively to regional sales, orders, profitability, and ITO quality goals

Generate RFP / RFI product and technology responses

Represent GE at national, international, and regional trade shows Qualifications/Requirements:

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university, college or relevant technical school (OR High School Diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in a marketing or sales position)

Minimum of 6 years of relevant work and industry experience Eligibility Requirements:

Ability and willingness to travel 30% of the time Desired Characteristics:

Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Computer Science from an accredited university or college

Knowledge of CAD based solutions used for the design and management of communications networks

Knowledge of Oracle relational and spatial database technology

Internet / Intranet development experience using XML, HTML, Java or JScript

Proficiency in Geographic Information Systems, such as Smallworld GIS, ESRI and/or Intergraph FRAMME

Proficiency in navigating and describing complex data models and interrogating such models for desired data and reports

Ability to explain and present complex solutions in a manner that is either consumable by “C” level executives and/or engineering business units

Working knowledge of communications technologies, including fiber, inside plant, coaxial RF networks, wireless communication networks, data and telephony networks, and POTS copper networks

Net or Java development experience Spanish / Portuguese as a second language

Strong creative problem-solving skills

Strong interpersonal and leadership skills

Strong customer mindset

Experience delivering high-quality presentations to mixed audiences
