Sr. Software QA Engineer - Chief Data Office Analytics




The candidate will serve as Software QA Engineer for AT&T Big Data Analytics software releases being performed in Sunnyvale, California . The product platform consists of the infrastructure required to accept source data from mobile devices, index and persist binary data in HBase and Hadoop Distributed File System, a framework for scalable data transformation (device data to meaningful measures) and a meta data driven user interface for browsing the data. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and be a hands-on, innovative and insightful software validation engineer proficient in Agile test methodologies, best practices and tools with a solid working knowledge of cellular network communication protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

Foster quality throughout the full product development lifecycle from inception/requirements to quality product delivery

Develop the End-to-End test methodology, strategy, plan and test cases for our advanced cellular device and serviceanalytics solutions. The right person will thrive on developing innovative and insightful approaches to “testing smarter”and will have the hands-on ability to develop tools and scripts to improve productivity, coverage and effectiveness.

Develop test scripts for in-house test automation tools to support data validation and application testing

Develop test scripts for in-house network simulators

Actively engage in the complete Software Development Life Cycle process starting from requirements analysis and system integration to functional testing and customer documentation

Serve as the expert in Quality Assurance methodologies and best-practices and experience with industry-leading tools

Required Job Skills:

8 plus years working in a software development environment

3 years of experience writing and executing test cases in a software release quality assurance role

3 years of experience in end-to-end product level testing

Proficient with UNIX scripting languages (for example, Pearl, Python, bash, and so on) for automation

Previous experience working with HBase, Spark and Hadoop Distributed File System

Knowledge about Micro Strategy and Tableau

Proficient in developing and executing SQL queries

Strong knowledge in Agile test methodologies

Ability to communicate effectively in a team environment

Desired Job Skills:

8-10 years of technical experience with at least 3 years of telecommunications network protocol and system level end-to-end testing experience in a cellular technology companies

Extensive knowledge of telecom software integration, test automation, and defect investigation, reporting and tracking

Expertise in developing optimized test configurations for efficient Black Box and White Box testing

Hands-on experience with Web Services testing, XML, and SOAP UI

Hands-on testing of mobile wireless communications protocols and products in one or more of the following domains: LTE, UMTS, GSM/EDGE, GPRS, CDMA/EvDO, WiFi/WiMax, etc.

Hands-on testing experience of: 3GPP / 3GPP2 protocols and scenarios

RDBMS query tools

J2EE applications

Interactive Web 2.0 applications

Mobile device applications (plus)

BSCS, EE, Mathematics, Physics or equivalent (advanced degree preferred)
