Purpose of Position

This position exists to ensure payroll taxes and garnishments are processed correctly and timely and all legislative requirements are met. This position also exists to ensure the proper systems and controls are in place to monitor and reconcile payroll taxes and garnishments and to ensure all government and 3rd party reporting is processed accurately and on time to avoid significant penalties.

Essential Responsibilities

Manage vendor relationships with third party tax and garnishment vendors.

Ensure all tax and garnishment feeds have successfully transferred to the vendors or agencies on timely basis and to ensure no significant penalties are levied against the company.

Complete year-end processing of all W2 and 1099 forms.

Work with our tax and garnishment vendors to ensure all updates to our interfaces are accurately installed.

Understand the tax and garnishment system configuration and set up and work with IT and/or functional support to implement any changes to these interfaces.

Manage relationship with third party unemployment management firm(s) to reduce company paid unemployment costs.

Act as the SOX and compliance specialist for US payroll.

Lead projects for taxes and garnishments for new acquisitions.

Act as our Success Factors Employee Central (EC) Payroll subject matter expert for taxes and garnishments.

Maintain working knowledge of our deferred compensation and equity plans.

Support our Canton area and TERI payroll associates with EC Payroll questions.

Assist our plants in problem solving and escalation of issues as needed.

Lead various projects and CI initiatives.

Technical/Functional Skills Required

Knowledge of EC Payroll, SAP, or other payroll systems

Knowledge of tax and garnishment legislative requirements

Knowledge of general payroll processing

Knowledge of ADP systems and processes

Must be organized and driven to meet schedules

Certified Payroll Professional

Strong PC skills

Minimum Qualifications

Associate's degree in Business, Accounting/Finance (or related) and 7 years payroll-related experience; or

Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting/Finance (or related) and 5 years payroll-related experience.
