Sr. Financial Analyst

The Global Sourcing Sr. Financial Analyst is a member of Polaris’ Operations Finance team, and is responsible for all day-to-day aspects of Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) for Polaris’ worldwide raw materials spend, total over $2B/year. In this role, you will be responsible for collection, consolidation, reporting, and messaging of Raw Materials spend results. This team member will be integral in the analysis of business performance, development of forecasts / plans, and the identification/measurement of raw materials cost savings opportunities. By nature of supporting a Global Sourcing organization, this role will also require an understanding of financial accounting and cost accounting concepts. This is a highly visible role supporting a worldwide organization, with significant cross-functional exposure to Engineering, Global Manufacturing, Business Unit finance teams, and Corporate FP&A. A successful candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter, who in addition to finance/accounting and analytical skills, will also possess an understanding of IT systems and a high degree of intellectual curiosity.


Work closely with Operations Finance Leadership to produce and present executive reporting materials to simplify messages and improve cross functional executive understanding of operational results of Raw Materials spend

Lead the coordination and consolidation of budgeting, forecasting and long range strategic planning for Raw Materials spend; including development of financial models and tools to support and standardize processes

Assist in preparation of monthly / quarterly corporate level financial deliverables (e.g., Board of Directors materials, Executive business reviews, etc.)

Partner across levels within the organization to coordinate data gathering and compilation of key financial operations metrics / initiatives (e.g., cost savings, commodity market impacts, vendor negotiations, risk / opportunity identification, etc.)

Analyze impact of continuous improvement for Global Sourcing, and associated impact on corporate and BU-level gross profit performance

Drive continuous improvement through the Operations Finance organization through sharing of best practices, standardizing processes and problem solving

Book month-end journal entries including but not limited to Purchase Price Variance (PPV) Ownership of Adaptive Insights FP&A tool, including maintenance, optimization & automation

Participate / lead operations finance projects as requested by Global Operations Finance Leadership team

Perform ad hoc financial analysis for projects as assigned, including but not limited to, NPV and Payback calculations on investments, and cost leverage opportunities


Bachelor degree in finance, accounting or related field. MBA preferred.

Prior experience in FP&A, decision support, plant finance or Global Sourcing preferred

5 years of experience in finance, accounting, or sourcing required

Strong ability to work with business leaders to deliver results, including the ability to persuade

Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with an eye towards continuous process improvement, including the ability to innovate and simplify both finance and operational messages with attention to detail and deadlines

Demonstrated ability to solve problems, multi-task, and manage multiple priorities

High degree of intellectual curiosity

Advanced Excel & PowerPoint experience required

Hyperion and Adaptive Insights experience preferred
