In this role, qualified candidates will be responsible for meeting sales objectives of assigned territory by sell and service Principal investment products through financial professionals sales techniques, product service and long-term customer relationships.
Job responsibilities include:
Represent Principal in all facets of mutual fund, Separate Managed Accounts, and ETF sales and service.
Increase territory market share
and sales growth
, increase total number of Principal sellers, and meet/exceed territory sales goals
Develop consultative relationships with financial advisors, branch office managers, sales managers, firm specialists and centers of influence at priority firms
Share Principal’s intellectual capital, value practice management, and best practices as it relates to financial professionals’ business model; profile advisors needs and position Principal solutions.
Participate in client and prospect facing meetings/seminars and roundtables to educate and provide information on financial concepts; articulate key product and service differentiation and position Principal as a strategic long-term partner
Stay current on Principal investment products and investment themes and c
onduct branch and individual advisor and team meetings to articulate investment and practice management related topics
Access and document advisor activity in CRM
Partner with Internal Wholesaler to capitalize on qualified advisor leads and executing sales/service territory business plan
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
Create and maintain long-term strategic relationships with advisors
Ability to execute in a high pressure sales environment
Creative and persuasive with ability to effectively position Principal solutions
Works both independently and as a team member and partners across different Principal business lines
Adapts to market changes - Adapts to changes in firm initiatives
Excellent planning, organization and time management skills; ability to analyze and prioritize large amounts of data
Excellent territory and time management skills
Maintains integrity in all interactions; follows through on commitments; maintains professional/ethical standards
Significant travel required
Strong combination of sales and analytical skills coupled with an energetic and engaging style
Significant knowledge of the financial markets, equity, fixed income, alternatives and the ability to articulate complex product solutions
Proficient utilizing contact manager systems and technology resources
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
5 years minimum relevant sales experience required
5 years external Wirehouse/IBD wholesaling experience with existing established advisor relationships in Minnesota/Dakotas territory
Public speaking seminar experience
Prefer professional designations (CIMA, CFP, CFA, CAIA, etc.)
Current FINRA Series 7 and 63 required
This position requires successful completion of a motor vehicle driving record check.
