Lead a Program Management Office (PMO) and a team of Program Managers for the Global CSH APV Operations organization that focuses on manufacturing strategy and major cost down initiatives. The primary types of projects that will be led by the PMO include manufacturing transfers, insourcing, value engineering, cost down, etc. The role will also have responsibility for driving continuous improvement in PMO training, processes, and tools that are utilized by Project Managers across the organization.


The Sr. PMO Director position requires broad cross-functional knowledge and comprehensive business management skills to provided direction and leadership to a variety of project teams. These teams will include members with expertise from disciplines including: Operations, Finance, Product Development, Regulatory Affairs, Quality, Supply Chain, Sourcing and Product Marketing.

* Leads and manages a cross-functional team to drive selected major programs, primarily focused on cost-down initiatives but may also include delivery performance, inventory reduction, quality risk improvement, and large-scale value stream improvements.

* Play a key role in the process for defining the manufacturing strategy that results in a portfolio of projects that are evaluated for investment

* Harmonize and standardize project managements practices across the global organization utilizing common tools and systems

* Establish an overall Project Management Office (PMO) for CSH APV Global Operations with well-defined reporting, sponsors and meeting cadence. This will also include implementation of a stage gate PMO process that takes initiatives through ideation, feasibility, proforma development, execution and project closure.

* Drive implementation of standard tools to estimate and prioritize projects within the portfolio. This includes documenting key risks and developing a basic understanding of what is required to mitigate them

* Coach and develop program managers as a key trusted advisor

* Coach team members to ensure process adherence and effective project management, utilizing best practice project management skills

* Secure and deploy resources for effective program management in a highly matrixed environment (people and financial).

* Develop an approach for establishing cost down road maps for critical value streams across the organization. This may include implementing cost down kaizen events (VATF) to facilitate identifying cost down opportunities and then flowing them through a process to effectively prioritize and select them

* Maintain effective communication with the business leadership team, team members and functional leadership in all activities required to deliver the program successfully.

* Works collaboratively with multiple stake holders across the organization with a focus on the Value Stream Directors to ensure that needs are identified and met as part of the overall program objectives

* Other responsibilities that may include presentation development or updates to senior level leaders, as required.


* Bachelor’s Degree

* 15 years of progressively increasing responsibility in Manufacturing Operations or Product Development.

* 5 years’ experience working with global regulatory requirements such as FDA cGMP and ISO 13485 requirements in the Medical Device Industry or equivalent in other regulated industry

* 10 years of Project Management experience including leading teams in cross-functional and matrixed organizations

* Track record of developing and implementing large scale changes across multi-site organizations

* Experience working in matrixed teams responsible for influencing and communicating at all levels within the organization

* Experience in continuous improvement including DMAIC and Lean Sigma processes

* Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated successful facilitation and influence management – ability to achieve change and leadership buy-in at multiple levels.


* Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering or technical discipline

* Advanced technical degree or MBA

* Knowledge of core manufacturing processes such as Supplier Management, Process Validation, Design for Reliability and Manufacturability (DRM), etc.

* Strong experience with executing validations and qualifications

* Excellent presentation and data analysis skills including extensive knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel

* Black Belt
