DESCRIPTION

Senior Director, Sales, North America Consumer Products & Global Strategy, Hard Goods

* Key Responsibilities:

* North America Sales (75%)

* Directly responsible for achieving the revenue targets for NA for Hard Goods

* Leads the aggressive acceleration of Hard Goods Sales in North America by delivering highly commercial Licensee deals, driving existing partners to aggressive sales targets, actively finding new business, and ensuring the delivery of compelling product on shelf

* Operates at a highly commercial, senior GM/CEO level with the Licensee base, ensuring that Hasbro is prioritized as the Licensor of choice

* Partners with Retail Development and Regional Sales & Marketing to develop Sales plans and high quality pitches that accelerate the sell-in and sell-through of Hard Good products in market and leverages licensing as a business model to compliment Hasbro's toy business

* Constantly develops new business models and deal structures to drive accelerated revenue growth (i.e., DTR deals, new partners, contract renewals)

* Keeps Hard Goods relevant and top of mind with industry/media taste-makers and business influencers, via innovative deals, industry events, panels, and outreach

* Drives Licensees to deliver and support the One Voice plans as set by Sales, Marketing, and Retail Development (i.e., negotiates incremental marketing contributions)

* Ensures the team is solely focused on revenue and sales generation; ensures product development and approval responsibility is handled by Creative, trouble-shoots or elevates operational issues/blockages to Head of CP Operations

* Global Category Strategy (25%)

* Sets Global Hard Goods vision and strategy in a highly compelling and visually motivating way; guides global teams by setting and communicating the overall Global Hard Goods vision

* Applies and provides insights, market intelligence, and data to stay at the forefront of Category trends relating to product, business models, Licensees and Retail, and communicates these as simple and compelling Sales tools for the regions to implement

* Sales and commercial point of contact for major Hard Goods initiatives (i.e., Licensee deals, DTR, Retail pitches)

* Partner to Global Brand Franchise leads and team on the development of franchise launch and sustain plans

* Manages the virtual global Hard Goods P&L; acts as a check and balance for commercial regions globally by spotting gaps and areas of weakness/development within the Regions to support business unit revenue goals

* Key measurement of success is the expansion of global revenue in the category

* Education, Knowledge & Experience Required:

* Bachelor's Degree, MBA preferred

* < > 10-15 years of both US regional and global business-to-business Sales experience in a deal intensive and relationship oriented consumer products category with profit and loss responsibility

Strong working knowledge of the retail landscape and trends

* Experience in analyzing and assessing trends in a global market to identify opportunities and potential risks

* Solid experience in developing and executing ground breaking deals and driving growth

* Proven track record in sales management and communication in a global capacity

* Deep and relevant understanding of the Hard Goods / Hardlines category; demonstrated ability to grow major categories despite obstacles

* Strong critical thinking skills, creativity, and the ability to successfully multitask

* Minimum 8-10 years of inspirational leadership and management of global teams

* Successfully demonstrated experience managing and leading a staff, including developing people, setting individual and group goals, and delivering clear and constructive feedback

* The ability to be both visionary and strategic in thinking as well as tactical in executing strategies

* Broad working knowledge of the entertainment and licensing business on a global scale

* Must be able to drive key trusting relationships at all levels of the organization; demonstrated ability to thrive in a global matrixed organization

* Strong work ethic combined with a team-first mentality; able to manage time effectively and to drive multiple projects forward at once

* Skills required:

* High levels of personal gravitas and soft Sales skills, underpinned by strong EQ; ability to influence and collaborate with teams internally and externally

* Highly developed listening skills coupled with a naturally curious approach to selling and problem solving for a customer/client

* Outstanding presentation skills with the ability to hold an audience to create and drive a compelling pitch or business case to closure/agreement

* Mature, capable communicator who can make argument clearly and succinctly, both verbally and in writing

* Tenacious and proven negotiator and deal maker, underpinned by International and/or culturally diverse experiences gained in multiple consumer companies or environments

* Strong creative POV with a well-versed understanding of brands, consumer trends, pop culture, and product trends

* High levels of resilience and tenacity in the face of internal or external challenges, obstacles and rapid change of pace or direction

* Exceptionally strong strategic planning and implementation skills

* Financially savvy, numbers oriented with the ability to quickly assess performance from incomplete data (i.e., forecasts, budgets etc.)

* Highly entrepreneurial thinking within a corporate context

* Proven success and track record at leading and managing people, structuring a team for success

* Excellent cross-team collaboration and partnership skills, with the demonstrated ability to work across organizations and reporting boundaries to accomplish goals
