A Day in the Life:

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

You will serve as an advisor to the Chief Procurement Officer and his leadership team, as well as the lead and hub of Global Supply Management (GSM)-driven communications within the function, across the company and externally to suppliers.

You will build upon and evolve an overall communications strategy that will drive deeper employee awareness and engagement in the Global Supply Management strategy and key enterprise-wide initiatives.

You will develop and implement a proactive supplier communications strategy, including the creation of core messaging and channels that both help achieve our supplier objectives and advance the Medtronic brand.

You will help plan and execute national, regional and local supplier outreach events throughout the year.

You will partner with our Responsible Supply Management and Supplier Diversity teams to articulate and promote our strategies and efforts in these areas.

You will provide direct communications counsel and support to the Chief Procurement Officer, as needed and agreed upon.

You will provide ongoing communications leadership, counsel and feedback as a participating member in GSM leadership team meetings and forums.

You will partner closely with Global Communications team members across multiple disciplines (Corporate/Business Group/Region, Internal and External Communications, Global Brand) to leverage messaging, tools and approaches and coordinate execution of plans.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements:

EDUCATION:

Bachelor's Degree

YEARS OF EXPERIENCE:

7 years of experience (or 5 years with a Master’s degree) in a professional communications role within a Corporate, Agency or Consulting environment to be considered.

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS REQUIRED:

Experience developing and driving Internal Communications strategies to drive alignment and engagement

Experience in External Communications and Issues Management

Experience working in a variety of mediums, including print, digital, social

Experience leading teams, prioritizing projects and providing oversight

Nice to Have:

Master’s Degree in Communications, Journalism or Public Affairs preferred

Experience in Supply Management, Supply Chain or related environment

Familiarity with Supplier Diversity, Corporate Sustainability or Corporate Social Responsibility

Demonstrated experience in successfully supporting transformation and change efforts that involve diverse sets of stakeholders
